Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I get it, y'all like to pick on me because I actually enjoy the little community Bonnaroo creates just as much as the lineup.
It's more the fact that there's a growing army of people like you who value vibez and community over artists.
This may be newz to you, but from a booking perspective it's a lot easier to please people who are willing to open their wallets in search of good vibez than it is for those who demand great artistic talent.
The bean counters know this, and they're loving it.
Yes, I actually do. Going to a midnight premiere is awesome because i get to be with a bunch of other rambunctious fans who also enjoy the same think I do tremendously.
Also, the large screens are something I don't have access to in my house. There's something about those fountain cokes too. See? Overall experience, more than just the primary content.
So did the environment and culture of Alvin and Chipmunks: Roadchip entertain you???
If vibez are all you care about, you don't have to drop $400. Drop $150 on one of the many many wook festivals that permeate this land and you'll get the same experience.
Well the environments and culture are different between roo and a wook fest. I prefer the bonnaroo community more than the purely drugy one I've witnessed at wooks fest. And don't think just because you continue to say vibez that it discredits those who enjoy the experience for things other than the lineup.
I've been to 26 festivals including 6 bonnaroos. Bonnaroo has the most drug use I've seen at a festival except Wakarusa.
I would love CHVRCHES LN, I hadn't even thought about that! Probably won't happen but would be awesome
I'm sure it won't. Instead they're probably gonna have CHVRCHES close down Which before LCD so I'll be in the pit line missing it. Seeing as they love to fuck us over with the schedule
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

You must have wasted a lot of time surveying and interviewing all of those people about their drug use.

After sleeping on it and doing a quick preview of all the stuff I didn't know, my opinion of the line-up has changed. It's worse than I originally thought.
The electronic offerings are especially atrocious. So much candy trap, bro-step, building up to yet another drop, WOMP WOMP WOMP dogshit.
I found 2 bands that I didn't know of that I would want to go see, Vulfpeck and Cymande. Bringing my grand total of definite-go-shows to a whopping 13 (16 w/ headliners).
I had 12 in the 'Liked it, would check out barring conflicts' group. 20 in the 'Didn't flat out hate it, but would only go if nothing else was going on' section. And 48 in the 'Hated it, definite no, would rather eat my foot' category.
It's more the fact that there's a growing army of people like you who value vibez and community over artists.
Why is this innately a bad thing?
Hey, since you don't go to music festivals for the music, maybe you don't have anything to contribute to this thread and should let everyone else carry on.
Also, the large screens are something I don't have access to in my house. There's something about those fountain cokes too. See? Overall experience, more than just the primary content.
Yeah I mean do what you want. But paying $400+ to chill in a field with some friends and meet some pretty cool randos; sounds insane to me.
Factor in travel costs and everything and I could use that $1000 to go sit my ass on a beautiful beach for a week and meet some cool randos.

haha good point. The artists on the lineup are not as bad as that movie to me. So there does have to be at least interest in the content yes.

I do go for the music as well, but aren't dead set on being entertained by specific artists. So the theme of the lineup is more my fancy. Still is about the lineup.

Yeah you have to ask a lot of questions to know somebody is snorting coke or offering to sell other drugs to you
I just can't believe how you ran into every single person that had attended every single festival you went to and observed their drug use. Glad we have you here to crunch those numbers.
I listed the acts I am either excited for or am generally a big fan of and put them in order of (personal) excitement along with how many times I've seen them.
it's a sad list for a festival where I'm usually excited for like 40+ artists.
most of those I've seen in this list include a set within the last year. there are a good handful of artists I would check out/look into more outside of this list, but under normal circumstances that would account for filler time during the fest - not 75% of what I'm seeing at a festival. I don't want to be indifferent to everything I'm seeing.
- LCD - M83 - pearl jam - dead & co - tame impala (1) - shamir - blood orange - ellie goulding - big grams (0) (but have seen phantogram 4 times) - hundred waters (3) - HAIM (2) - st lucia - FJM (4? 5?) - death cab (2) - saint motel - daughter (2) - CHVRCHES (2) - lord huron (6) - purity ring (1) - borns

Play this comparison out to its logical conclusion and it'll be you and your Vibez Crew paying a premium to sit in a theater watching loops of youtube cat videos on a cool large screen with $9 fountain cokes.

I hope they book small stage acts on the level of what they did in 2014: The Orwells, Skinny Lister, Speedy Ortiz, Diarrhea Planet, Griswolds, and others. That could help convince me to go.
I've done 7 straight Roos. With Wednesday arrivals and Monday exits, I've spent a month of my life on the farm. Bonnaroo is the brand I have the most loyalty to out of any product or event. There are years I've gone in the past when the lineup sucked but nothing as bad as what this lineup is. There's still so much excitement and nostalgia when I go back to Roo and that is the primary driver for me, not the lineup and that sucks. I'm worried that if I don't go this year that I might never go back. I'm glad I keep waiting on getting a Roo tattoo, it could be real embarrassing in 10 years if they keep trying to book Lolla lineups.
