Just hustled through all the unknowns on the lineup for me, came out to 35 acts I would see:
Blood Orange, Bully, Borns, Cashmere Cat, Death Cab For Cutie, Dungen, Ellie Goulding, Father John Misty, Fidlar, Flosstradamus, Givers, Haim, Hermitude, Hundred Waters, Kamasi Washington, Kurt Vile, Leon Bridges, Lolawolf, London Souls, M83, Macklemore, Mavis Staples, Miguel, Natalie Prass, Oh Wonder, RL Grime, Roman Gianarthur, Shamir, Tame Impala, Twin Peaks, Tyler, Vince Staples, Vulfpeck, Waxahatchee and Zeds Dead.
Pretty decent amount, it's just lacking in the value department for me. I've seen about ten of them before, and then half of what's left I wouldn't be all that excited over.
I'm being very cynical right now because I've been swayed and to be honest, the people who know more about ALL music seem to be in agreement. I know what I like but I can't be used as a gauge for what's fresh/exciting/upcoming.
I've agreed that hip hop and heavy music is lacking. So is the "WTF? I never expected that" type of act as well as any special/unique sets. So until the FINAL lineup comes out I'm fine with talking a bit of trash. I know I'll love Roo still but it definitely is not impressive when comparing to others
Comparison is the thief of joy. You can't compare your music tastes to another's, you like what you like.

Not impressed. Disappointed about the lack of Judas Priest, Shpongle, and Grimes. Headliners are good this year, but the subheadliners are hot garbage. I want to bring along noise cancelling muffs for J. Cole.
Music Midtown: 2011 Bonnaroo: 2012 - 2016 Forecastle: 2013 Rock al Parque: 2014 420 Fest: 2014-2018 Shaky Knees: 2015 - 2019, 2021 Seen tons of local shows since 2004.
i'm pretty pleased with this lineup honestly. i've only been going to shows and fests for a handful of years so there's a lot of acts that i haven't seen on this lineup that i think a lot of others have seen multiple times already. my first look through i counted 20+ acts that i'm really excited for before research and whatever additions (remember d'angelo was a late addition last year).
haven't seen yet: big grams cashmere cat chvrches (really excited about this one) death cab for cutie fidlar (never been to a punk show before. looking forward to this.) goldlink griz hermitude j cole (am i the only one??) keys n krates m83 (this will probably be the most magical set of the weekend for me. absolutely cannot wait.) miguel papadosio purity ring st. lucia tame impala tyler the creator vince staples (fuck yes)
ones i've seen already but i'm still very excited to see at the farm: the floozies lettuce rl grime zeds dead
so after counting again that's 22 acts i really want to see. that's a pretty good number for me, and i'm sure it'll grow as i do some research on the bands i don't know. and that's not including the headliners, which i plan on seeing all 3 for the first time. overall i'm digging the lineup so far and i think there'll be 1 or 2 interesting additions. i've never seen a comedy act or a movie before either so that's still to be seen.
i highly suggest people check out the floozies, vince staples, and st. lucia if you aren't already familiar. the floozies are two bros from kansas city that play badass electrofunk. i've seen them once in a venue and once at a festival. both times they've killed it and had just incredible energy. vince staples is really about to blow up i think. summertime 06 is a great album. check out hands up, blue suede, norf norf, lemme know, and limos. st. lucia is indie electronica. my favorite song of theirs is when the night.
Just getting home and catching up to this. It's not a great lineup, despite great headliners. I didn't go last year and was really looking forward to returning this year...now I feel like maybe I'm done with this festival. I dunno...

I know how you feel. I'm at the point where I think I'll just wait and see if LCD and Ween tour closer to me because those are the only must see acts on the lineup for me.
