Interesting, checking her out now. Sweet! Are you going to the BSS pre-show?
I don't think so since my flight doesn't get in until 7:00 that night and I don't have a 3 day pass yet. I will see them at the fest though.
Sweet. I changed my flight just to go to that show (thank you based Southwest), and I'll be riding the rail for them that day. Time to explore Twin Peaks...

I'd say Brian Wilson just because he'll never tour all of Pet Sounds again. If you like/love that album or just the Beach Boys in general he puts on a great show. I saw him twice over the weekend and I'm still really looking forward to his set here!
Whitney/Julia Holter Savages/Jenny Hval (I saw Savages earlier this year) Super Furry Animals/Jlin & RP Boo Kamasi Washington/Empress Of (I saw EO in 2014 and really liked it, but Kamasi is obviously really good too.)
Someone on the Lolla board pointed out that Oneman was dropped from the bill; there's now a gap after Sun Ra Arkestra and NAO and Empress Of were pushed back.
Is there a place that lists the shows/announces them? Or is it just random?
The P4K subreddit has a good list going on its sidebar: www.reddit.com/r/pitchforkmusicfest That doesn't include other shows like Swans, John Carptener, etc.
Whitney/Julia Holter - like both on track, haven't seen either live Savages/Jenny Hval (I saw Savages earlier this year) - Jenny Hval is great, but the Savages live show is something else. Given that you've already seen them this year....maaaaybe thats reason enough to go Jenny, but I would still argue for doing Savages. That lead singer is a beast on stage. Super Furry Animals/Jlin & RP Boo - idk. Haha. Kamasi Washington/Empress Of (I saw EO in 2014 and really liked it, but Kamasi is obviously really good too.) - Empress Of is really neat to watch live, liked the set better than I thought I would at Moog this year (really like EO on track but thought it might be a boring live show); but obviously Kamasi is super talented. Depends on your mood that day, I'd say
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
Savages/Jenny Hval (I saw Savages earlier this year)
If it was me, I'd pick Jenny mainly because I know I'll likely have many more opportunities to see Savages and judging by the recordings, those Hval shows have got to be very interesting.
That's a nice schedule there. Now that I'm looking I have to make my own mock.
FRI Car Seat Headrest > Whitney > Twin Peaks > Mick Jenkins > The Range > Beach House
SAT Kevin Morby > Royal Headache > Jenny Hval > Blood Orange > Super Furry Animals > Brian Wilson > Sufjan Stevens
SUN Sun Ra Arkestra > Woods > Kamasi Washington > Empress Of > The Hotelier > Jeremih > Miguel > FKA Twigs

Yeah, this is where I'm at with it. Videos from Primavera has me worried her show's not going to translate well outdoors in the middle of the day:
But it doesn't look like she's coming to the Midwest on this tour anyway, so it might still be worth a shot. In any event, splitting sets at this fest is easy enough.
Totally forgot I have a 3 day pass for sale. I'll try here before Stubhub.
$150 if you're interested.
just I was getting excited to have a CRJ singalong with you smh
By the time this rolls around, I think I'm just missing total of 3 bands that I wanted see and seeing 2 of those by September. If I hadn't seen CRJ this year, I would have been there.
I just saw that Hval/CDY are playing an after show. If you are still having a conflict, see Hval indoors. She's way better suited for that.
Kamasi Washington/Empress Of (I saw EO in 2014 and really liked it, but Kamasi is obviously really good too.)
Dude. Come on. Kamasi Washington is the overwhelmingly obvious answer to this question. His set at 'Roo was unrelenting amounts of awesome and the people he plays with are really talented too and goddamn that woman can sing. It's just a really intense show and it's next to impossible to not grit your teeth, furrow your brow and look at the person next to you and say, "oh my god." We saw Cymande and Charles Bradley together. If that kinda music interests you, which is clearly does, go see Kamasi. He's only going to get more popular. Also I'll see you there.
Friday: Car Seat Headrest > Whitney > last half of Julia Holter > Twin Peaks > Mick or Carly? > The Range > Shamir > Beach House
Saturday: Kevin Morby > Royal Headache > Savages > Blood Orange > Super Furry Animals or Jlin? > first 25 of Brian Wilson or good spot for Anderson .Paak? > Sufjan
Sunday: Woods > Kamasi Washington > Holy Ghost! > Neon Indian > Thundercat > Miguel > FKA or OPN?
There's still a solid two weeks of research to be done. Feel free to give me impassioned or lazy responses to my areas with question marks.

Had no idea you were going! We should meet up.
See Broken Social Scene on Friday night. Just do it. They're incredible.
I'd see Brian Wilson over Anderson .Paak since this is the last time they're performing Pet Sounds in full and Brian Wilson is old as hell. .Paak is just getting started.

You're gonna be hard pressed to pull me and my brother away from The Range and Shamir's live show. These dudes are gonna fuckin' dance. And regardless of if I see Brian Wilson or not, the odds of me not leaving to go see Anderson .Paak's live show are extremely low. But we'll see what the big bro wants to do.
And hell yeah dude, just PM me and we can sort out some details.

I'm a bit biased because BSS is my favorite band, so missing them would be like not breathing for the whole festival.
I love Anderson .Paak and that conflict feels like a punch in the gut, but Brian Wilson is going to be very special.

Sounds good!
Ah, well, yeah for someone not super familiar with their music that doesn't really sell me away from those other two acts haha. But yeah, I really will have to talk to my brother about it and see what we can figure out for that set. Because I do really want to see Brian Wilson, but I've been swooning over .Paak for awhile now.
Also, you can just assume that I'm always gonna be at Pitchfork. This'll be by 8th P4K.
