As a former Chicagoan, I had been infinitely jealous of you Pitchforkers about to be able to see not one, but two, Broken Social Scene concerts, the first in the US in five years.
Now that they've announced work on a new album, I can let my jealousy go and wish you all a good time in Union Park. Have fun, you guys! Hope they test a new song or two for you!

reviews from last night's Broken Social Scene at the Metro? I am going to see them next week in NYC and am super excited!
Really great show. They played a 15-song or so setlist and sounded really tight. If you'd like some spoilers, I can share more specific details, but otherwise expect a fantastic set!
I'm working in the west loop til 9 (just a couple blocks from union park) going to try to come catch the back half of beach house if they stop checking for tickets near the end of the night. Fingers crossed
I'm anxious to hear if Shamir plays the exact same set as last year or if he has some new material. Also, going to Smart Bar for Clams tonight, so excited!
Today was pretty good. BSS was a definite highlight. The crowd was noticeably thinner, though - tons of people at CRJ but almost no one a Beach House. Also, idk if there was anything stopping them but they should have opened the gates at 2:30.

All good, dude. I did notice small crowds in general.

As a first time attendee, Im loving the smaller crowd size. Makes it easy to get great spots!
Also, Shamir was a blast live!! Big fun gay dance party
Sound quality for Sufjan was pretty poor. I kept moving around, but couldn't escape the conversation noise from the crowd.
Savages and Anderson.Paak were great. Also had a great time watching the dancers at JLin.
Seems like the sound was off in some way at all three stages yesterday. Personally, I thought that the green was actually the best stage in terms of that.
Also, Pitchfork crowds suck in terms of side conversations, so you're bound to get that unless you're right in the pit.

Been plenty of times and never had it be that bad. I thought the Blue Stage sound was perfect, they were just running behind schedule all day. The red stage seemed all messed up. Blood Orange seemed to have issues as did Brian Wilson.

The Blood Orange sound was terrrrrrible. Multiple mics not firing properly, and he never seemed to have the guitar come in at the correct time. Ruined what was otherwise a really good set.
