So a question for all of you fans of The Grateful Dead(Dead & Co.) in one form or another, what are the chances they do a few other shows this year? As of right now Roo is the only show they have scheduled on their website. I am most likely not going to be visiting the farm this year due to not wanting to make that drive for such a low quality lineup. Will I be able to see these guys somewhere else this year?
I am guessing (hoping) a tour will be announced Friday.
Hey, so what Spotify recordings do you recommend for these guys? I know the Fare Thee Well concerts are floating around out there bu there I'd like to dig a bit deeper.
no Fare Thee Well. They were just novelty shows for the 50th anniversary. Not bad, but not shows to get acquainted to the Grateful Dead.
Look up 30 Trips Around the Sun on Spotify. One song per year 1965-1995. Some of the best GD shows were picked for that release.
Hundred Year Hall was always one of my favorites, but I'd actually suggest just listening to some recordings of the winter tour with the current lineup.

Made a playlist on spotify based on some set lists from last year. Some good jams and it can give you a little taste of what to expect if youre unfamiliar.

this. by all means listen to Live/Dead and all those dope Pigpen shows, just because musically you should, but Dead & Co. sure as hell isn't going to sound like a bunch of twenty-somethings in 1968 jamming during the birth of LSD. It's almost a completely different band and definitely a completely different sound.
There is a beautifully shot HD video of one of Dead & Co's Fall MSG shows. Can't hop on youtube at work but it should be easy enough to find. It's a rip of an amex stream.

According to Weir, they are likely touring sometime in 2016:

mostly completely fake
Never claimed they weren't. Just thought I'd bring what I found here. How do you know this? This would have them hit some key missing spaces from the last tour. Seems like a pretty logical run to me but I wouldn't be shocked if some of these fell through.
It's not that I know they are false, but there have been strong rumors for other venues not on this list. Plus it came from a Phish site. YUCK! lol jk but I just don't see them playing New Orleans, Albuquerque, Louisville, or doing a 2-leg summer tour. Just my hunch that's all.

The Pittsburgh stop makes sense, however Stage AE makes no sense as it is a smaller venue. Id think they would for sure be at First Niagra (Starlake for my locals out there) or maybe one of the sports stadiums.

One of the reasons I'm happy for this is it's luring some of my former 'roo mates back onto the farm. They all came with me four years ago, but they haven't been back since. With Dead and Co. on the lineup, they've already bought their tickets and are locked in. It will be interesting to see how many GDF types descend on the farm this year. I'm sure some of the other tour stops will influence the numbers.
Curious: Has anyone seen "The Music Never Stopped" (the film)? One of my favorite movies and I re-watched and got 10X more excited to see Dead & Co. on the farm.

don't think its a lock quite yet, they could still easily play Saturday. There are some back to back nights in different cities on that tour, and Charlotte is not that far from Manchester.
Personally the lack of no other southern dates makes me happier I'm going to Roo this year.
Did you see the jagoff on facebook Inforoo arguing with everyone about this?
No I just saw the dates listed on their site and knew that at least one person would think it. Figured I should try to keep that idiocy from the board, they are welcome to the Facebook page though.
