Oh god...if LCD, M83, Tame Impala, and CHVRCHES all end up on Friday...this isn't going to end well. Bonnaroo always has to screw my Fridays over by stacking it with everything I want to see
Welp...
and they threw Tyler, Vince Staples, and FIDLAR on there too....just to fuck with me. Like I don't know how to not take this personally
My guesses and observations: dean ween was joking all those months ago about being placed in the slot opening for the dead on What on Sunday. There will definitely not be a funk superjam unless several bands are staying for extra days. However, it looks very likely that we could have a Claypool Superjam (or if the Stapleton rumors are correct a Timberlake SJ). Hard to see who else on Saturday would be part of it unless mccready is planning a very long night. Miguel maybe?
Th: 11 - ouch, going to miss a lot of this unless they finally open Which and I can actually move between stages F: 12 - as long as Kamasi isn't at sunset I'll be in the pit for LCD for sure Sa: 14 - but this day is all about Pearl Jam and Claypool/Lennon. The other bands are mostly just mild interest. Looks like big grams, Miguel and superjam late. You can see why the bus schedule had people leaving early. They really need another add for this LN. Su: 12 - really disappointed in no Ween late night. And Lettuce had better be in a tent so I can at least try to dance if I still have any energy

It's almost like they just need to add Grimes or something...
Dead & Co will be scheduled 7-11 according to the official event page on facebook. So the first set will probably conflict with a lot (including the bluegrass superjam) :/

For every event page they have for the upcoming tour it says show starting at 7 p.m....so I wouldn't put much into that.
Highly doubt they will conflict with the Which/Tent closers on Sunday.

They definitely will. Bluegrass jam was still going when Billy hit the stage last year. Dead are playing twice as long as he did.

I didn't go last year so I didn't know that.
Is it likely that Which/Tent closers finish at 8 and the Dead start around 7:30? I'm imagining two 90 minute sets with a 20-30 minute break in between (so 7:30 -> 9:00, 9:30 -> 11:00).

They updated the event and changed the time an hour after the daily lineup was released, so it's probably pretty accurate. I don't see them starting any later than that
Fuck thissssss. Friday is going to be positively brutal with conflicts - they couldn't even put Purity Ring on Saturday? Seriously? LCD, Tame, CHVRCHES, M83 and Purity Ring all probably within like 6 hours of each other and overlapping is so fucking stupid. I'm mad.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

So based on my count, Thursday has 18 acts, Friday has 31, Saturday has 28, and Sunday has 23.
For comparison, when the daily schedule was announced last year (before Ana Tijoux dropped out), Thursday had 17, Friday had 28, Saturday had 27, and Sunday had 26.

sigh, only way Which is opening on thursday is if multiple acts are added to that day. i really hate the festival organizers sometimes. guess i'll be posted up at Vulfpeck Tent all day so i can see something
vince and tyler are all but guaranteed to conflict with tame/m83/chvrches. add in lcd AND purity ring?? plus griz, st. lucia, fidlar, shamir, ibeyi, daughter, kamasi, and dungen...
thursday looks to to me. saturday looks okay at best. personally sunday is total ass.

i can't believe you've done this
Vince will probably get the Danny Brown spot of 2014

you're probably right actually. still tho. i am afraid.
If I could have gone this year, this may have done it for me. Friday has 75% of my top acts and they'll all be within a couple hours of each other. Thursday is also a great night that will be stuffed into the tents. If it weren't for Dead, I would probably plan on heading out early Sunday to beat traffic. Owell, no matter what it'll still have the same Roo magic.

I agree, with the campgrounds opening on Wednesday it really is time they start opening the which on Thursday. I thought the screens on the tents helped a lot last year though. It was till pretty packed, but it wasn't like 2013/2014 packed. I remember in 2013 I about gave up trying to see anyone near the end of thursday because I just couldn't move close enough to escape sound bleed and enjoy a show.
Oh fuck me running. Friday. Fuck a bunch of Friday. I'll be able to sleep all damn NPR day on Saturday and Sunday but I'm going to tear my hair out on Friday.
Tame Impala AND M83 (fuck) CHVRCHES AND Purity Ring (fuck) Floss and Zeds Dead (fuck) Griz and Tyler (fuck)
Not to mention the fact that LCD will be playing against one or more of those acts.
For what? A Haim late night Which set? Miguel? Two Door Cinema Club? God, Saturday just looks like a snooze, a Thurman Murman, and an early bedtime unless they add something (ala D'Angelo). Fuck.
To echo what others have said, stacking Friday in this way really exposes how weak the lineup is.
If you really want a laugh, go compare thursday 2016 with 2013.
damn, shouldn't have done that.
In no particular order:
Haim, Purity Ring, Killer Mike, Father John Misty, 21 Pilots, Alt-J, Japandroids, ALO (With Jack Johnson), Walk the Moon, Allen Stone, Araabmusik, Ariel Pink, DIIV (though they were moved I think), Capital Cities, Houndmouth, The Vaccines, Araabmusik, Milo Greene, JD McPherson, etc
Granted, a good portion of that is hindsight. But that is a solid and diverse Thursday of up and coming acts. They killed Thursday that year.

I'll admit while I've more or less kind of apologized/defended this lineup since release, looking at the day by day break down if you take out the headliners it feels less like Bonnaroo and more like "The 15th Annual BBQ N' Boogie Down: A Benefit for the Greater Chattanooga Area Food Bank".
Definitely flummoxed by Ween on Sunday. I guess they'll close the Which, with Jason Isbell > DCFC on What? Weird not giving them a LN spot but who knows what the reasoning is behind that. I guess the postjack positive spin would be I won't have to miss something else LN to catch Ween, but looking at the lineup I don't see a lot of creative possibilities for LN aside from standard EDM.
My bands by day are fairly consistent throughout the days though, and run a decent gamut from lower billed to higher billed, so hopefully I'll have acts to keep me interested throughout every day.

You mean Phish 2009? Unless I'm forgetting something, which is always possible, Phish just had one show in 2012. Even then, Phish's two 2009 shows were on different days; one Friday LN on the What Stage, and the other was the Sunday HL slot. The day-by-day has The Dead & Co. listed on Sunday as "Dead & Company (2 Sets)"
Nope, in 2012 Phish was listed as (Two Sets). I know because I made a fool of myself that year swearing they would play two shows similar to 2009. Dead will play 90 minutes, then a break, then 75 minutes then an encore. That's it.

Will they clear the pit between sets?
Nope, it will be one block on the schedule sheet. Get in the pit initially and you're good to go.
