Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
I know I'm going to regret this but what are you talking about?
You know, the thread where we evaluate people's worth based on their physical appearance. That thread.
This thread has been created every year - usually twice/two separate ones. At least I'm allowing for the physical appearance judgment to remain contained within one thread instead of two?

I don't believe being aware of the physical attractiveness of other human beings is inspired out of hatred for them based on their gender. This thread might be a bit shallow but it is far from mean-spirited.

I'm not an expert, but I think what Jimmyroo is referring to is merely sexism as opposed to misogyny/misandry. I think most people are expressing admiration based on physical characteristics. There's no hatred here, which (again, I'm not an expert) is a key to misogyny/misandry.
Yeah, I wouldn't say we are judging people's worth based upon their physical attractiveness - just making note of it, without any further analysis of how this relates to their other non physical attributes since we (unfortunately) don't know these people in real life.

Wouldn't there have to be some sort of favoritism towards one sex in order to be sexism? Rummy is being grossly inclusive with thread unity.
wait, so it's hilarious when kanye continually treats a grown woman like human garbage, but it's misogynistic to acknowledge when we think someone is attractive? come on.

I wasn't saying it was a *correct* use of sexism.
I just hate when people misuse the word misogyny, because it's a serious thing. But I don't wanna hijack the thread anymore than it is.
How many times does this conversation occur in this thread each year? Over/under?
It's almost like people have sincere opinions on the matter. I think most of the people posting in here have their hearts in the right place, but when 90% of the shows I go to featuring a band with "a hottie" in them involve that person getting catcalled at some point in the show, I'm just uncomfortable with the whole enterprise.

I know, there is no need to be defensive. I was just noting that at least this practice is contained in one thread, I.e. "Gender-neutral"
