Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
We will miss you guys in VIP this year! We are headed to Groop this year as the now freshly minted Fiance and I have a wedding to pay for! Really wish we could do VIP this year! Like Vieux stated waking up to sound check sis AMAZING! If anyone wants to give us a Pre Wedding present any donations towards a VIP package would be appreciated!
Congrats on your engagement! And at least you still get to go, even if it isn't VIP.
Something I'll have to look into. Thanks for the heads up!
If I remember correctly VIP yoga is first then Centeroo. I believe it's the same people leading both sessions.
You got it backwards. I was just informed that Centeroo is at 9am and then VIP at 10am. I totally get why my girl goes to the centeroo class at 9am. It's too hot to yoga at 10am.

Hey all. Headed to the farm for our 1st Bonnaroo since 2005. Gonna be my 50th birthday as well. Lots of fond (and hazy)memories of those first 3 fests. Been lurking here off and on for years and I'm really looking forward to seeing in person just how much it's grown and changed. Decided to do it big and go rlars but we'll be spending alot of time in Centeroo. That's where I met alot of great people, some that I'm still in touch with to this day.

I now know what I want to do for my 50th birthday. I better start saving now.
Returning to VIP this year, and bringing Mrs. RoRo and a couple we know from home. Can't wait to get back. Morning sound checks are the ideal alarm clock.

If you plan to bring a generator, make sure that it is not in plain sight at check in. We had ours confiscated at the gate last year, and we were not prepared. Very disappointed since we bought a quite one just for the farm. We got it back the next day by telling them we were taking it home. We were told that 7 were confiscated in VIP. I sent an email asking if they were allowed or not and never got a reply.
If it was a big gen then they do have a rule on over 4kw...but a small camping one they were overreaching.
From the you can't bring in list "Gas-powered generators (larger than 4KW)"
So in theory anything smaller should be fine. To be safe I will have that page of the site pulled up and ready.
Yeah, the page this year clearly states below 4KW is ok, but a random volunteer or even a supervisor might not know what that means. I think there used to be a decibel level ceiling on generators too but that's even harder to document/understand. Just be careful with generator exhaust, remember this can be deadly in enclosed areas. If everybody's brain is on intoxicants things can happen.
BO is for the peasantry in General Admission. Us VIP folk (well, I was in 2012) can and will do better - showers at least twice during the weekend.
Last year I started a new personal tradition where I'd jump in a shower when we were walking/stumbling back from Centeroo each night at 4 a.m. I never had any lines and plenty of hot water. I also seemed to sleep better. It was perfect. ...
Nailed it! A buzzed shower at 3-4 in the morning is the bee's knees(not sure what that means- something Papa said).

Purchased an 18 foot hybrid travel trailer over the winter. Been out twice in the early spring and love it. The wife (with our developing lil dude in utero) and I will be there. Bringing along our best music friends to share in Roo 16.
We did VIP last year for the first time and just fell in love with it.
Sound checks- listening to Kendrick play King Kunta on Friday morning had me pumped for the show that night Free Beer Thursday night Showers Guaranteed short walk A/C- the ability to sleep as late as you want Lax security
*For anybody interested* VIP is about the comforts. If you are good at roughing it, VIP might not amount to much. But if you like to be clean, free ice cream and fruit, sleep as late as you want without sweating (A/C in RV) and easy walking; VIP is worth your $. The What VIP hill could be better (bigger tent), but the VIP tent over by Which is heaven at 4 in the afternoon. Oh, and clean-ish porta-pots at 1 in the morning when GA portas look like a shizz wrapped tornado just past through.

Anyone ever try out the yoga sessions? Worth checking out?
I watched the yoga! ???? Lol too freakin hot for exercise for me, if it had been shaded I might have participated. A whole lot of people were doing it though. Our camping neighbor did the 1 K run and she said it was freakin hot but a lot of fun!

Tammy! That was me! Good to hear from you! My Dad and I are coming back this year, and we're doing VIP again. Let's figure out some way to be neighbors again and secure our AMAZING spots we got last year

So glad to hear from you! Would love to be neighbors again, I got my fingers crossed for another amazing spot. I'm worried about fitting my tent and ez up in a normal spot.
How does the thursday buffet go? Thursdays is kind of a jamming night for me music-wise and to run back to camp at 730 seems incovenient. Is it quick moving? Can you grab and run? I know the point of the buffet is to meet other vips and what not but......I mean im GOING to meet people all over the place. Anyone have any input, thoughts, suggestions, roo pro moves?

It always starts early...4 or 5 for the food. It's just the band and beer that is later. You go through the line (10-15 min is the longest I've waited) and grab what you want and then take it where you want.
My question is, we have always gotten a 'ticket' for the merch package and I only got one for the buffet this year. Did everyone who got their package already not get a merch ticket?

Oh really? 10-15 minutes is doable especially if it's early. How do they notify you when things are being served? Oh, and what's the band and beer? I didn't see anything about that. That is separate from the buffet?
I didn't get a merch ticket either, only the buffet tickets. The VIP "brochure" just states that you can pick up your package at the VIP information station at the VIP campgrounds. Exact times and locations will be notated on the map you get at check-in. Maybe with the registering of the wristbands they will just scan you it instead of vouchers or tickets? Dunno. This is my first time going.

No worries on the merch, just got the email stating we get our voucher as we enter.
There is free beer and a band playing in the VIP campgrounds on Thursday Night. I think it's from 8-10 maybe. It's usually one of the bands playing Thursday already.
Hey we are new to Bonnaroo and we are staying in the VIP area. I was looking for some advice from veteran Bonnarooers. Here are my questions I would love some incite on: -Is there any electricity hook up in the regular camping area? Not looking to hook up anything fancy just a box fan. -How much space will I have to set up our ten and car? Is it sectioned off already? -What time should we arrive on thursday? Is it worth getting there at 7? We are going to be driving 12 hours the night before just to stay in Nashville. 7am sound too early for a vacation wakeup. -and overall just any advice on packing or event must sees? You know not the obvious things we have thought of be something obscure only a former Bonnaroo goer would know

No electricity. Get some fans that run on batteries. Then bring a shit ton of D batteries.
You get lots of space. It is sectioned off with paint. Park you car parallel to the space. Bring shade tents and tapistries.
Earlier you go the more likely you will be further back along the fence. It's close to the entrance to the What stage, but a long walk to the bathrooms and showers. You want to be close to the big white tents with the amenities. In the past we have had a strategy to achieve this goal, but I don't recommend it if you are not in a big group.

It will be my birthday on June 10th so I can't wait!!!

Congrats! I went to Roo in 2013 pregnant and had a blast! I did dance too hard at of Monsters and men and have to head back to the rv and cool off for awhile but as long as you stay hydrated and eat fruit and veggies and proteins you will be good!! It's an amazing time no matter how you do it!! But when pregnant the AC is sooooooooo helpful!!!!

People that have taken RVs before is there enough space for like setting some stuff up outside the RV for hanging out. I like being in the grass and stuff and enjoy being outside don't want to just always be chilling inside the RV so just checking that there is space for like tables and chairs and maybe a screen tent with some cots?

I'm assuming you are talking about VIP RV as there is a general adm RV as well. I can only answer for VIP.
I think the spaces measure 20 wide by 40 to 45 long. The spots are massive. We had RV canopy plus additional pop-up with screens. We had beer pong, cornhole, two additional tables, chairs. I was worried for my first RV experience to have enough space for what I wanted. We spent the majority of our camp time outside under pop-up with fans powered from generator. It is freaky cushy. I saw one group with a pillow fort and it was the shizz.
I have become soft in my old (ish) years. Wouldn't trade GA camping experiences for anything. The great part about VIP RV- is that you can control the elements and it makes raging at night so much better. You can always tell the RVers vs others by Sunday.

Sweet thanks! Yes VIP RV, I love GA tent camping I generally use a screen tent with a cot and it's like heaven but momma dukes bought an RV last year so I figured I'd give it a whirl and went VIP just to splurge. I did it in 2013 when I was pregnant but I'm excited to not be Prego going to Roo this year!! can't wait to get to the farm and set up home base! I'm so excited for the space! I love being outside!!

Yeah, VIP rv is way cool. This will be our fourth year. The ONLY drawback to VIP rv is the generator exhaust, if your generator is portable strongly recommend a strategy to deal with that, maybe on the roof with a blanket or rubber mats under it.
If it's a regular rv generator get one of these Genturi exhaust diverters, makes it much more livable.
