Man, I saw the notification and thought you were gonna comment on my band. let down!
John Bonham's mammoth drum solos and Peter Hook's blistering basslines would be an absolute powerhouse - arguably the best rhythm section of the entire draft. With such a rock solid foundation, how to add even more octane to that tank of awesomeness? Hmmm... how we throw in perhaps the last great rock n roll icon on lead guitar, pair him off with one half of the most successful songwriting duo in history on rhythm guitar, and ice the cake with Morrissey's honeyed vox and sprinkles of Ray Manzarek's jazzy keys?
Every band member has one foot in punk and the other in the blues, which makes for a cohesive sound. Add in three singers who are all equally adept at a punk growl or a melodic coo, and it becomes a dynamic force. john, Kurt, Morrissey - their songs would be introspective, sometimes strange, always gorgeous and usually dancey. Only Kurt Cobain could release Bleach and then go on to do Leadbelly covers. Only Morrissey could sound so heavenly against the thrash of a guitar like Johnny's. Only Ray could back Jim's proto-punk vox with those signature jazzy fills.
With my final pick, I am going to select Stanton Moore, drummer for galactic. He has the classic New Orleans in-the-pocket funk sound, but also has played extensively in a multitude of projects with guys like Skerik, Charlie Hunter, Marco benevento, and jams all over the place. very versatile and diverse drummer. He's gonna be bring the deep groove to the back end of my band.
<--check out the groove at the end starting around the 4:20 mark
My band, the Peach Pie Revue, is an R&B, soul, and rock band. Anchored by a lock-tight, jazz funky rhythm section of Moore and Jones, Ray and Tina will share vocal duties, with Charles bringing the sweet Southern Soul and Tina slinging hot fire on barn burning breakdowns. Duane Allman brings more of his delta blues and Muscle Shoals roots to the forefront here, complementing Charles' piano with beautiful slide work, rhythmic blues riffs, and explosive guitar solos. Bobby Keys ties it all together with his horns, adding syncopated sax rhythms, classic Stax style horn accents, or blistering leads. Equally at home with blues standards, funky southern 60's soul, or country-tinged rock, the Peach Pie Revue:
Vocalist- Tina Turner Guitar - Duane Allman Bass- John Paul Jones Drums- Stanton Moore Misc- Bobby Keys - Sax Misc-Ray Charles - Piano
Edit: I'll post videos and explain along with waiver pick. fearofpride is up
I have no clue who this person is, but that's an awesome name.
Unfortunately he was a victim of Facebook's have to use your real name policy lol. When my waiver pick is made it will be fully explained, I have to leave it in the dark as of now until the full squad is assembled
