P.S. So entirely confused as to how the Kinks were still available to snag in ROUND FOUR. They are in top 3 of British Invasion bands, without a doubt. Bands like U2 and the Chili Peppers got snagged before them? Wut.
I think snowman had the best draft overall. It's the most solid top to bottom for me.
Also, where the fuck is Nine Inch Nails?
Good picks guys (for the most part, there are definitely some questionable ones).
In the first post on the draft thread, it says they determined that Nine Inch Nails isn't a band and so was ineligible. It's spoilered under the heading Band or Solo Artist.

Ok I took a look at that. By that logic LCD Soundsystem isn't really a band either. Also, Weird Al is a band? And somehow got drafted? Da fuck?

I got The Police in round 5.
The Kinks>>>>>The Police
But yes. There was some puzzling order in draft picks.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
1.fearofpride-wins easily, Rolling Stones and Rush were both in my top 10. Ramones were very influentual, Public Enemy is one of the most important rap groups of all time and Portishead may have not invented trip hop but they perfected it.
2.pepe- first 3 picks are tough to beat, Queen, Black Sabbath and NWA. I love the Eagles, I don't care. Plus Oasis and The Strokes. Ok the more I think about it, it was close, right behind fearofpride.
3.potentpotables- CCR, The Cure, RATM, Sex Pistols and I'm not even really counting Prince, because no one cares about his band. That and Green Day kept them from being ranked higher.
4.snowman- wasn't in my top 5 till I saw his lineup in festival form. Solid and eclectic.
5.jackwagon- If music only existed after 1989 they would have won. Impressive list of current bands.
6.farrisbueller- I had you in the top 5, but bumped you out for snowman. Can't go wrong with your start of Zep, Foos and Run DMC. You kinda lost it in the 2nd half, though those are all good bands.
Honorable mention: cdevaney, jaz, krisplettuce (highest lineup ever), psppr (It's hard for me to rank this so long because Outkast, Wu-Tang and GYBE are all personal favorties and of course Daft Punk, but I'm not a huge fan of New Order or The Knife)
One band kept you out of the top 10: bun(you know which one), everydragon (I'm not a fan of Arcade Fire), ramon (Plastic Ono Band).
Most of the others are solid but someone has to be in the bottom half.

No Creedence Revisited here. This is Revival territory. They sang about it in Born On The Bayou and their cover of Lead Belly's Cotton Fields.
I just never understood why a band from San Francisco sang about the bayou
That was the music that Fogerty loved growing up. He said it felt a little weird to him too, because it would just come out and he would be singing about things that he had no idea about and places he had never been. They were a great band.

Going forward, for a few decades already IMO, the most interesting music exists outside "rock." This isn't a "rock is dead" statement cause that's silly and of course there's still great things going on in that genre but it is no longer the cultural driving force it once was. I feel confident my selections are integral in shaping were music is and will be for the foreseeable future. History will vindicate my selections. Don't flame on me too hard, please.
Daft Punk | Outkast New Order | Wu-Tang Clan Godspeed You! Black Emperor | The Knife

Looking at my draft all in one place, I think my age really showed when I was selecting my bands. I'm also still amazed that I was able to snag Tool as late as I did.
