P.S. So entirely confused as to how the Kinks were still available to snag in ROUND FOUR. They are in top 3 of British Invasion bands, without a doubt. Bands like U2 and the Chili Peppers got snagged before them? Wut.
Slack was the first one I knew was definitely getting my vote.
As far as bands that weren't chosen, there are quite a few I'm surprised weren't taken. Blink 182 probably would have been one of my choices.
Just out of curiosity, what was the tiebreaker between Bun and EDIAS? It was U2 wasn't it?
I had mentioned this in the Band Draft page but whoever was seeded lowest in the first round of the draft won the tiebreaker. I was hoping it was going to only impact seeding and not actually lead to an elimination but it seemed the fairest way since the higher seed had the first shot at the best pick so the lower seeds were necessarily at a disadvantage.
I've been working through it for a few days now so I think I'm good.
When we talked about it a while back we talked about starting it off with a poll to cut it down to a bracketable sixteen, running bracket-style to the final two and then putting it to a vote. Voting open to all. 24 hours per round.
Will that work for everyone?
To clarify the seeding for the brackets, the 1 seed will be the one with the most votes, 2 with second most votes, etc.
In the event of ties, we'll take the initial draft order and the later draft slot will be the higher seed. So the person who picked sixth, for example, would lose a tiebreaker with the person who picked nineteenth. (Substitutes assume the first round spot of whoever they replaced.)
Tenacious D and Parliament were positives, but Sublime cut yours out of the running for me.
Sublime cut me out but what of Marley and Morrison. damn next time I'll just google rock bands and pick from the top like most...
I mean, it's all subjective anyway. Even if you tried to approach it objectively, different people are going to come to different conclusions. Personally, I recognize the validity of Marley and the Doors as choices, but I'm basically ambivalent as to both, so they didn't overcome Sublime for me when I was voting.
I actually voted for Dragon because he had Zappa, and I personally think it's a travesty that that was a sixth round pick, but apparently I'm in the minority on that.
