Did any of y'all see on Sloss' FB page that they just added the Struts to the lineup? Also, does anyone have any info about another headliner being added? According to Forecastle's page, both Ryan Adams and Death Cab are playing there on Sunday, July 17....wouldn't make sense for your top 2 billed acts to play on the same day at a music fest...is anyone still looking at this thread? lol.

you're probably right! and also, i think i'm the only other person who follows this thread haha. i think we're bound to get a few more additions, along with a headliner. i always assumed the Shakes were gonna headline...

Hey, at least two of us are here! I'm also going to that Young the Giant/Ra Ra Riot show in October, btw. As far as the Shakes getting that spot, I don't think they will. Sure, being a hometown crowd it's always possible, but since they were just in Gulf Shores for Hangout and they played T-Town last year...I don't think they'd do it. I also think they are in Chicago after there Forecastle set, so the travelogue would be odd for that one. My guess was MMJ since the rest of the band will be there playing with Ray Lamontagne, but I would LOVE for them to surprise us with Arcade Fire! I know, highly unlikely. A Foals add would be nice though!

that's awesome! i had to snag the presale tickets because their show at sloss last year was so good! oh no, i don't think they will either. i just assumed they would after the first sloss fest. they seemed like a lock at the time, playing everywhere else and not here! but yeah. it's not looking so good for them now. mmj would be a nice surprise! i think AF are too big, at least for sloss's second year, but you never know. that would be an amazing show. i think foals are touring europe/canada around when sloss is. they would fit in nicely though. i could see florence headlining if she hadn't just headlined hangout. she fits the atmosphere/vibe of the fest. in all i'm kinda underwhelmed by the undercard. it seems the lineup had more acts last year, anyway, but that may just be me...

Florence would be awesome, especially for those of us who didn't get to make Hangout this year. I actually am starting to dig a lot of the under card...just hoping they don't put up Glass Animals in the shed against one of the big headliners. Check out White Denim, Jr Jr, and Anderson East if you haven't yet...three up and comers that should be great shows. Jr Jr used to be Dale Earnhardt Jr., Jr if you weren't aware. Also, if you like the Shakes, you'll likely dig Seratones as well...
Giant win today. For the second year in a row I won tickets to Slossfest. Of course I bought tickets during the early bird so this is gonna be turned into spending cash. Me and livetunage are gonna throw down.

I also won some at my local record store haha! Already had free tickets though so I'm selling them as well.

If Ray Lamontagne headlines a night I will be all kinds of sad. His last few years of music have been 100% watered down suckage. Hoping for a 7 pm-ish set for him so I can take a walk to get some food and a beverage.
I don't know why everyone is talking about another headliner. Highly doubt that is gonna happen. Last year before they released the Avetts they had a spot for it on the poster. They're not adding a headliner.

I understand that its unlikely for another headliner...but here is a theory I was discussing with canigetalineup...it goes against all Festival poster logic to not have your two biggest headliners listed 1-2. For us, that's Ryan Adams and Death Cab. Well, they are in fact both in Lousiville on Sunday, which put them both at Sloss on Saturday. So you're saying Sunday's headliner, to close out the whole show isn't even big enough to nab one of the first two billings on the lineup? I think not. Additionally, they keep teasing how close they are to selling out the allotment of $135 tickets. Would it not make sense to hold one more big headliner name to drop to convince those who haven't purchased to go ahead and throw down the new price level of $150? It's not a bad marketing ploy, honestly. Especially if the current price value is selling well with what's been announced. Then those who bought cheaper are more apt to have a feeling of loyalty to the fest because of the awesome surprise dropped on them without shelling out any more cash...just my .02. Could be totally wrong.

have you listened to Ouroboros?
I haven't listened to the whole thing yet, but what I've heard is definitely more interesting than the album before it...still don't think he's a headliner though. If it is someone who's already announced, I would likely go with the Arcs.
If it is Ray Lamontange as the other headliner (doubt) I hope that Glass Animals is in the shed at the same time. Sorry if you are a Ray fan, but he bores me to tears.

That would be a best case scenario if it is Ray...I agree. I like some of his stuff, he just doesn't have the energy a festival headliner needs...

Daily lineups & single day info coming next week according to Instagram. Caption reads "We've got a secret to share! Comin' at ya next week!" I count 32 artists this year with The Struts and 33 total last year. I guess another headliner is possible only if tickets are selling really well and its a last minute thing, because they would've put a placeholder otherwise, but they probably wouldn't bother with single days if they were. I'm leaning towards no on another big add.
Having the top 2 play the same day is pretty unprecedented and may have been some sort of mistake/mixup. I really hope there's another big one, because that top 3 doesn't interest me. Love just about every other act on the lineup though.
So for the sake of conversation, who is everyone, outside of the top line, most excited to see here? For me, I have to say Glass Animals and Fitz for bands that i know but haven't seen. Ben Harper is always a great time, and Flaming Lips always have a huge stage production. As for bands that I haven't heard of prior to the lineup, I'm really excited to check out White Denim and Seratones, along with Anderson East although I'm afraid I'm the only one in my party that wants to catch him....how bout y'all?
I am looking forward to catching The Struts, The Arcs (Seen Black Keys) , The Joy Formidable, and Ghostland Observatory are all ones that I plan on checking out. Still have some digging to do on the undercard. Oh and for sure Glass Animals.

Most excited for Glass Animals, The Arcs, Dr. Dog, Sylvan Esso, The Struts, and Flaming Lips. I have a ton of research to do on the bottom half of the lineup. I've heard good things about Jr Jr, White Denim, and Seratones, though. The more I look at the lineup, the more excited I get. Oh, and Ryan Adams is great. Already saw him front row at Shaky Knees, ton of fun.

I admittedly haven't listened to it yet. I think I was so scarred by Supernova that just reading Ray's name made me want to crawl into a dark space. I'll give it a listen and report back. Hopefully the results will be better this time around.
