I'll take Brawl over all the traditional fighting games any day!
Fun story: In college my friends and I managed to burn out three copies of the game and two Wii's from our constant Brawling. One of the guys would switch out the old torn up discs with copies from Blockbuster to keep our gaming going. We would play at a house where four of my friends stayed and another four of us would constantly frequent it, just doing match after match after match. It was constant madness, and I loved it.
This came out my senior year of high school. We had a 3-day weekend the week this came out, and no school the morning of the midnight release. My friends and I all went and picked up our copies and then dove into the endless hours that this game had to offer. I've probably put in well over 1,000 hours collectively since it's release, and I've still never beaten the main story.
And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know you realize that life goes fast - It's hard to make the good things last-you realize the sun doesn't go down - It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round

with my 2nd pick i'll choose my personal favorite and the best selling title of the series:
final fantasy 7
and with my 3rd pick i'll choose another of my top favorite nintendo action adventure games. some of the best humor, music, and all around gameplay for the n64 imo:
