As far as packed, I disagree, the Amphitheater (Mushroom Stage) was too crowded for Primus last year, as least for me it was and spirit lake was often packed full of people. Which is why they are opening up more of the Lake area for Spirit Lake. Congestion is also why the back fence at the Amphitheater has been moved back. This is 20K to be sold to the public, it does not count tickets for artist and such. Last year peaked just over 30K? and they had parking issues. If this opens things up a bit, makes it a bit less congested, I am okay with that. The experience will be more rewarding. $20 for parking, have you seen the mess people often leave behind. I agree a more proactive approach (Clean you sh!t up) type programs could help eliminate this "tax", but yeah, some people are just plain messy and someone has to clan that mes up. The park maybe 880 acres, but I am not convinced the music venue can not hold much more than 30K people, comfortably and safely.
Days before the lineup dropped Megan said something along the lines, "I hope Hula gets MMJ!", which I immediately responded with a "yeah right, that will not happen". Glad I was proven wrong! Besides someone's radio, this will be the first time MMJ plays SOSMP, unless they were there like 10+ years ago.
Perhaps I'll sell it and get GA. I just like my creature comforts in a music fest setting I suppose. Also it sounds like I can still mingle with GA folk and camp GA as well.

Who do you want for additions? I just want variety. Maybe a band like Dr.Dog, Sturgil Simpson, RRE, Los Colognes, JBB (just saw them for the first time and they were awesome).
Lotus needs to be added to this. Round out the trifecta for me Tribe-Umph-Lotus. It's hard to think of adds with such a nicely wrapped and balanced line up. Young Fathers would be a good for hip hop. A Talking Heads cover band like Heartbyrne. Ghostland Obs would be also a great fit. Looking at last year's line up, it seems most adds are middle of the line up. Glass Animals, Marco Benevento, Boom Box, Wild Child, Flux Capacitor, Broccoli Samurai.

I kinda want them to get Earphunk to do their Daft Phunk tribute show that the Werk Out is getting. And Flatbush Zombies I think might fit the mix well too!

That's funny, because I want to see Future Rock's Daft Rock. Maybe there will be both. 8)

Didn't know Future Rock did that, as long as we get some tribute to the robots or the robots themselves

Anyone know about when phase 2 of the lineup will drop? This year is already looking super dope but I'd love to see a few more additions like Leftover Salmon, Grandpas Cough Medicine, Bucket Head, and well it probably won't happen cause he's playing the rhyman on the 28&29th but I'd love for Sturgill Simpson to play the 30th.

I copied the list from the first page,
Sturgil Simpson, even if he is playing in Nashville the 28th, 29th Phutureprimitive, would fit in a late night slot. Glass Animals, gonna be some ooey gooey gooey on everyone at this show Ghostland Observatory, funny thing about "lasers" at the Mushroom stage, these guys were doing it back in 2010. March Fourth Marching Band, This band marching around spirit lake FTW!! RJD2, This guy is gonna scratch some shit up
Tame Impala Ween Shpongle Live Band set Gogol Bordello JRAD Galactic Portugal. The Man Grandpa's Cough Medicine Con Brio The Devil Makes Three
Although I am loving this line up already, looking forward to additions!!!

For my money, I couldn't imagine a band fitting better with Halloween and the general feel of Hula better than Gogol Bordello.
Anyone know if there's legitimacy to the rumor that MMJ is playing all three nights? Speculation goes that MMJ has created different hashtags for requests for each of the three nights. They've only done that for multi-night runs like Red Rocks and the Beacon in the past. All other festival appearances have one request hashtag listed...

if that was the case when the lineup was announced I'm sure Hulaween would be advertising it. I suppose its possible something has changed between now and then. Would be AWESOME if this was the case. 3 nights of MMJ, 3 nights of Cheese, and all the other acts? Would be the hot shit.
The only reason I could see Hulaween not advertising it from the start is because MMJ wanted to sell out OBH first? Otherwise, I tend to agree this might be a clerical error... but a man can dream!

A lot of times a performer will list all days of a festival they're playing on their website (or partner ticket sites) until the festival releases the schedule. It would be great for y'all if they played 3 nights, but I agree Hulaween would be advertising it due to the potential draw that would have.
Where is this rumor coming from? You can't take the website showing 3 nights to mean anything.
Why would the lineup say 3 nights of SCI, but not 3 nights of MMJ? If MMJ gets 3 nights it's because they gave up looking for other big names to book at this point.
Having said that, Imma be pissed if MMJ plays 3 nights. Gonna make me want to bail on Voodoo.
It's not the website showing three dates that's causing this speculation. It's MMJ's "Spontaneous Curation" page, which lists hashtags for all of their shows so fans can request tunes. Multi-night runs have different hashtags for each night. Hulaween has three hashtags. No other festival date has had more than one hashtag, ever. The only dates that have had multiple hashtags are their multi-night runs like Red Rocks or the Beacon.
The lineup could say three nights of SCI and not MMJ (yet) because you'd have to think three nights of MMJ would cut significantly into sales/demand/interest for their destination festival, One Big Holiday, where they happen to be playing three nights. Makes sense to me that once OBH sells out (a matter of days), they'd then give Hulaween the go-ahead to bill 3 nights of MMJ along with their other lineup additions.
Or more likely, some intern mistakenly posted three hashtags and this is all for naught. Something to chew on while we're waiting for additions, anyway.

I LOVE me some MMJ, but 3 nights will mean significantly cutting into prime festival time of other bands. And with SCI playing 3 nights it's going to mean almost half of every single day will be MMJ and SCI. TBH I'm happy with one set

Still no phase two?!? Anyone got the low down on when the big news drops? Also I would prefer only one night of MMJ if they did two or three sets that would be cool but what I loved about last year was the variety so many great artist. Just my humble opinion.
