I got a $100 Voodoo ticket last year so I'm waiting to see if they blow it on that lineup, and if they do, then I'll be checking out Hulaween for the first time.
My fiancé absolutely loved SOSMP (duh) and said she would def be down. I think I need to have her hear some Cheese before she commits. I'm sure she'd be down but SCI is no WSP (especially for 3 nights).
Question about the demographics for this fest: is it super overrun with young kids that don't know how to act? That's kinda the vibe I get, but SOSMP tends to have a higher mean age than most places.

Definitely younger than Wanee, but there were a lot of sosmp vets there too. We got there on Saturday so had to camp out in the field, but it was super chill out there. We had a great time.
I've posted this a few places on social media, but I think I'm a lock for Hula this year. 2 years without SOSMP is just sad and that can't hit 3. As of right now, I think I'm going to do a week plus down there. Spend a few days with my sister and her fam in Jax on either side of Hula and maybe swinging by Atlanta a few days first.
I've been down in Ponte Vedra for Halloween the past two years and it was such a sad tease to be in the airport with all the Hula people. This year Halloween is on a Monday, so I should be able to balance family and festival family.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

This was easily my favorite festival last year. Me and my crew had a fantastic time and everyone we met were super friendly. Unfortunately its a 13 hour drive for me so I'm out for this year (getting my sci fix at electric forest), but next year I could definitely see myself making the trip again.

Would love to make this happen. Wife is going to Atlanta with the other ladies in my family to see Adele that weekend. Depends on work and financial outlay for Phish southern fall shows. Also depends on Voodoo but I'm predicting I'd rather get crunchy with Cheese at SOSMP than fight the various logistical issues at City Park.

Me too. But it will never happen unless they turn Voodoo into Hangout.

Agreed here, it is a younger crowd than Wanee, but not "super overrun". I do know a few Wanee vets who now call this their fav fest.
Is there the feeling that the lineup will be released earlier than last year? I believe it was announced in late June last year.
I have plans to attend Hula already, so lineup release "time" does not really concern me, although I will agree, I hope it gets released earlier than last year. I am more interested in the "who will be there", and I know two things about that. First, on FB it was asked, "who would you like to see at Hula?", so I think they are looking for ideas, which I like. I like knowing I could make a suggestion for RJD2 and he might be there. Second, I also know promoters of Hula check into this thread and forum on occasion. The facebook page will be over loaded with requests and crazy ones at that. Our little corner here in Inforoo, not so much, so a request might have a better chance in here, then on FB.

You all got this...
That's a great start, I'd like to see:
Galactic Portugal. The Man Grandpa's Cough Medicine Con Brio The Devil Makes Three Sturgill Simpson
I would love Ghostland and Gogol from your list to be there. It kind of sucks that Gogol will be in Florida during Roo that's always such a fun show. I've only seen Ghostland once but they blew my mind, I had never even heard of them prior to that show. It looks like they're booking festivals but I don't seem to end up where they are often enough.
Damn. That's good. Outside of Disclosure who I didn't like on the Coachella stream, Logic who I don't really know and Boys Noize which I don't particularly like, that's a great lineup. They will add more, but SCI, MMJ, Umphrey's, STS9, Big G live featuring The Motet, Claypool/Lennon, Gramatik, Lettuce, Anderson.Paak, Snarky Puppy are all good. I'm still not going, but I'm hopeful that maybe Gramatik and Big G make play Voodoo since they'll be a few hours down the road.
Good thing it's easy to offload Voodoo tickets for the $99 early bird price should they continue their streak of mediocrity.
Headliners have not been mediocre at all and hopefully will not be again. Hulaween will always have a preferable lineup for me. But Voodoo is too good of a deal, and unlike everyone else, Suwanee sketches me out a little. I don't really like rural Leo mentality and covert operations. Heard a story of two about Full Moon. But yeah, if I was Jacksonville or Tallahassee, going is a no brainer.
