And why do they keep making Sunday's the most boring day possible each year? "Oh hey, lets just throw all the boring Americana/Alt-Country on Sunday so people are really depressed before they leave"
While we differ on the "boring" aspect, I'm actually in agreement with the overall idea here. I love the Sitch stage and usually camp there all day on Sunday (even more so this year since the publication I'm covering for is roots focused), so I'd have loved them to spread Charles Bradley, Jason Isbell, and Lord Huron onto other days because that's my crazy conflict tangle day.
I haven't been to Bonnaroo in the past couple of years, and I'm not going this year as well, but seeing this schedule is both relieving and depressing at the same time. Relieving because looking at it, there are huge chunks of the day that hold absolutely nothing of interest for me which assures me that the money, planning, and the trip out to this wouldn't have been worth it anyway. It's depressing because.. I mean... look at it. This is what the price hikes got them? Some good to decent headliners and a few acts that people care about playing later in the day. Other than Tame Impala, LN is pretty damn laughable. I don't mean to rant or rain on other people's parade but in my personal opinion, going from my first year to what is presented here.. it's kind of funny to an extent.
Thursday is actually pretty solid. The only crappy timeslot is Borns/Marian Hill/Lizzo but that leaves time to see Polyenso which is great. Not sure why there's a 45 minute gap between sets, or A FULL HOUR between Bully and Twin Peaks... Cashmere Cat set should be great.
Friday starts off super boring, a la last year. Then they schedule Shamir, Fidlar and Kamasi at like the same time WTF. Bryson Tiller is going to be slammed with the 17 year olds who don't like LCD, and it's extremely disappointing to see Tame overlap with all of Bob Moses and Blood Orange.
Saturday is garbage time. I'd probably go watch Natalie Prass and Band of Horses then just get trashed for Pearl Jam and wander around the camps for LN. Maybe the Superjam will be decent. RL Grime and Adventure Club are going to be ridiculously crowded.
Got a feeling Sunday will be heavier on the outbound traffic than usual. Not sure why you'd pander to the younger crowd then throw Lord Huron, Ween, Third Eye Blind and a Bluegrass Superjam on the tent closing slots without anything to balance it out. Also a one hour FJM set is a bit disappointing.
>Say Ellie Goulding will likely match or surpass Mumford's 2011 Which crowd on Bonnaroo subreddit >Get downvoted and told she wouldn't attract crowds like the other artists that appeal to the "roo crowd." >Point out Goulding is the artist with the second highest number of schedule adds on the entire lineup and playing against no similar artists. >??? >Profit
Thursday: Roman => Waxahatchee/Lolawolf => Bully => Twin Peaks => Polyenso => alcohol => Cashmere Cat
Friday: Daughter => Kamasi => sit around for an hour => Vince Staples => Leon Bridges => Tyler => LCD => Tame Impala (while crying about missing Bob and Blood Orange)
Saturday: Natalie Prass => Band of Horses => Haim or just drink until Pearl Jam => Miguel or Superjam => drink more
Sunday: Givers => Father John => Death Cab => Lord Huron => watch an hour of Dead and Co. then go home
God typing that out was painful, made me realize just how meh this year is.
EDIT: Also wow, realized I would go through like a five hour stretch of watching black artists on Friday, that'd be a Roo first for sure.
This schedule is actually perfect for me, it's making me slightly consider picking up a cheap ticket on stubhub when the fest gets closer and doing a last-minute-roo.
Thursday is whatever - haven't researched much since its probably not on the table this year.
Friday is actually pretty damn good for my taste. Shamir > Griz > Chvrches > Vince Staples > hour of nothing cause why not > M83 > LCD > Tame Impala is a pretty great day of music. Nice enough for me to consider paying $200 to ride a stupid shuttle from Nashville to Roo and back to see it. (Why the fuck is this the only way to do a single day? But that's a different conversation.)
Saturday is pretty terrible. It's like they concentrated all the suck into one day. The only acts before 7 p.m. that I care about seeing are What stage that I've already seen. Haim > Claypool > Pearl Jam > Superjam > Maybe Big grams.... That's it. RL Grime will be a massive clusterfuck. I like him and I wouldn't go near that tent. So many tweaking kids who skipped Pearl Jam.
Sunday is pretty chill but I could make a good day out of it.
Charles Bradley > Kurt Vile/Jason Isbell > Father John Misty > Lettuce/Sam Bush > Ween > Dead and Co. Obviously it's a little bland but all are solid acts.
I wish I was going but this year is still weak as hell. My jealousy is more for the mental vacation than OMG the line-up is so good this year.

I'm breathing a sigh of relief.
I know this is already the weakest Roo lineup of all time, but before today I was 100% convinced Roo would manage to further fuck it up with a terrible schedule. This schedule is acceptable to me.
Going to sort it into clashfinder so I can see it better visually, not bad but not perfect, as to be expected. That Cymande/Charles Bradley conflict is brutal, but I'll see Charles at Boston Calling so I might have to go with Cymande. Also Twin Peaks v. Vulfpeck and FIDLAR v. Kamasi (only an hour for Kamasi? seriously? That's like 3 songs.)
As was said 2 hour Tame Impala set will be cool, as long as they actually play for 2 hours. Bummed I'll be missing Bob Moses but what're you gonna do. I like the gap between LCD and Tame, although I hope LCD go a little over an hour and a half.
Hopefully the Superjam has something interesting, because that's probably where I'll go after Pearl Jam given that LN lineup. Maybe wander around to some of the side stages
The schedule works well from a "you get to see most all of the good acts on this lineup," but as people have stated, it's like being called the fastest turtle because of the fact there's not as much quality.
Overall, solid for me. However, really seems like less music for more money.

This schedule is way better than I imagined. People who are complaining about hour set times obviously haven't been paying attention the last couple of years. I thought they may give Kamasi 1.5, but that was wishful thinking.
Thursday: Con Brio > The London Souls > Papadosio > Vulfpeck > Polyenso > Drink and hop from tent to tent
Friday: Dungen > Ibeyi > Kamasi Washington > Vince Staples > M83 > LCD Soundsystem > Tame Impala > Lane 8
Saturday: Natalie Prass > Amasa Hines > Band of Horses > Claypool Lennon Delirium > Pearl Jam > Superjam > Big Grams
Sunday: Cymande > End of Charles Bradley > Kurt Vile > Father John Misty > End of Death Cab for Cutie > Dead & Co
Does anyone know if 1:30 is about how long LCD played at Coach? I would think it would be something pretty similar to that set list, if not exactly the same to wknd 1.

Still holding out for a cheap stubhub ticket myself. If a pair comes up for a better price than one (sometimes the seller won't let you purchase an odd number), I would be happy to go in with you.

Looks like it'll be a race to find the cheapest stub hub ticket.

I'm down! I'm trying to snag one for around $200 but I'm not sure it will drop that much.

And wow, you're like a walking, talking infomercial to turn people away from Pearl Jam and Ohio State, aren't you? Before you started posting here I quite liked Pearl Jam and was indifferent towards OSU, now I find myself wishing that Eddie Vedder falls down a mine shaft or that Columbus is infested with locusts

i just finished adding the small stages, silent disco and christmas barn. let me know if there's anything messed up. if they change the schedule 8634963469 times now that i've made this, i will set myself on fire instead of changing it.
