i just updated my google spreadsheet to add the cinema tent. i didn't include the morning shows (before noon). so if you're getting up early enough to go to those, you're on your own, and also suck it.

When did they announce the cinema tent? I'm not seeing anything on social media.

Tyler got bumped back 15 minutes later so he now starts at 9:45. I feel bad for those that have to suffer that 1 hr 15 wait between Vince and Tyler so they can have ample time to switch DJ Decks and throw some golf Wang inflatables on the stage. I bet the inevitable constant crowd crush while nothing is going on will be worth it when you get to hear his songs that were hot in 2013 live.
How are the lines for the Which pit typically? If I were to show up for FJM's pit like 45 min before (right when Kurt Vile finished), would I likely get in? Or is it smaller and usually filled quicker?

Well I think we have our first schedule adjustment. It looks like they pushed Tyler The Creator back 15 or 30 minutes. I'm not exactly sure how much but that gap between him and Vince Staples definitely appears bigger. He's listed as 9:45-10:45 now

yeah, he originally started at 9:30 so they definitely changed that, I'm guessing in response to complaints that he was significantly overlapping with J. Cole

Yeah I got there about 5 minutes before The War On Drugs last year and got in with no line and ample room to spare. FJM will probably be a bit more in demand, but it still won't be hard to get in. A lot of people just have no idea that the pit exists/how it works. Especially with the Which where the lines are less obvious than the big ones at the What.
Would love if they used that Tyler schedule change to give Kamasi or Ibeyi an extra 15 minutes, but I'm guessing that won't happen. They also need to give Dungen a full hour, and I can't really see why they didn't, although they must have their reasons........right?

As one of those aforementioned people who has no idea how the pit works (thought it was VIP my first time last year), where exactly do the lines start for the What and Which? Do all acts on the stages do pits or just the more popular ones later at night?

All of the shows at the stages use the pit. A line will form for a specific artist on the left side of the Which kinda by the vendors, and on both sides of the What also by vendors and bathrooms. If you want to get into the pit for someone like Pearl Jam, your best shot is showing up a bit before the act before Pearl Jam starts to get in the pit line designated for PJ. The area clears out after every show so if you show up at a decent time you're pretty much guaranteed a spot in the What pit because it's massive. The Which pit is harder because like the rest of the stage setup, it's kind of a clusterfuck. Now if you want to get into the pit for someone like Chris Stapleton, you should be able to go there hour before show time and get in.

All of them.
For the What, there are entrances on either side of the stage and the lines kind of go along the perimeter of the field, although the line on the left side can get a little weird in my limited experience. Normally I think there's a line for the headliner and a second one for whatever the next act is.
For the Which, I think it's just one entrance on the left side of the stage. Just look for the opening in the rail where other people are walking in and out.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong about any of this.

Last year, I walked into every single What or Which pit about 15-30 minutes before. I assume it'll be different with headliners, but I walked into MMJ like 15 minutes before they started.

I can for sure see that being the case for the What pit, but for the Childish pit we got there like 30 minutes before Gary Clark Jr and the line was crazy long. So I'd assume that will be the case for like Ellie Goulding.
I remember considering getting pit for Vampire Weekend or Kanye two years ago before I saw how long both lines were midway through Janelle Monae's set. Then heard some horror stories about the Kanye pit

There are more "adds" for tame impala and M83 than LCD. I wonder if a lot will just skip that trek over to what.
And just sit around and wait for two hours? Seems like a regrettable decision
I have a habit of going back to camp and using much of the headliner set time as my opportunity to shower and relax before heading back out. I usually don't care about the headliners, this year being no different, so it's a good chance to shower when it's not busy. Plus I don't like showering in the morning just to be sweaty and gross 20 minutes later.
Getting Pit for rap performances seem to always be a little more difficult and tricky. I've never had any major issues getting put during the day or for some sort of rock band. It's just a matter of taking the time to walk all the way down to the pit enterence.

A silver lining of sorts is even if you don't make it into the What pit, you're still in a pretty great spot. Left side is where I've gone for headliners even if I wasn't going for the pit. You're next to bathrooms, beer, etc.
I was looking at past years schedules, specifically late nights, and I haven't seen anyone mention anything about this before but it kinda sucks that music ends at 3am this year. Did they end scheduling sets to last till 4-5am for the Kalliope? Not that this year's late night acts are really as great as late nights before but I hope that we can go back to the late nights of years before. Paul Oakenfold v. Girl Talk v. Pretty Lights from 2-4am in 09 is insane. And music actually started at noon then.
