I get that it's great but I don't like the idea of paying the credit card company for something that I could've just bought straight up in the first place. Mind you, this is coming from someone that kept literally all of their at home and never actually deposited money into a bank to hold until today. And that's not an exaggeration. I literally just put all my money in a bank account for the first time ever earlier today. I'm just weird and like to stay off the grid, so operate almost exclusively in cash
The banks only make a lot of money if you don't pay on time. If you ever want free flights and hotel nights up the wazoo, credit cards are the way to go. Also, that's kinda nuts. I would hate to have so much cash on me.
Theres also some cheaper ones roughly in the same area. Theyre all on south beach. The freehand is the famous one (mostly because of the bar), but i did a little more searching and found two within a few blocks of each other for $18 and $25 respectively.
I know hotels are comfortable, but in Miami, especially during IIIPoints, you wont be spending much time there. The beach is right across the street, and the festival runs until (i believe) 3am. Alls I would be looking for is location, proximity, a bed and a shower. An uber will take you to and from wynwood for ~ $10-15 during the night, and public transit (One bus, one train) will take you there for $2.25 a ride, or $35 for a week pass.
It got expanded to run to 5 a.m. this year!
Yeah. Get a credit card. Get points. Establish a credit history. Plus if your card ever gets skimmed you're way better off having fraud charges on a credit card than a debit.

Exactly. Plus, getting something like an American Express can get you early access to concert tickets. Got Kanye floor tickets easily that way.
I shall look into it soon. I just don't like the idea of contemplating some thing that should be as simple as giving someone money and getting something in return. Being all cash kinda tricky, but I was so used to it that it didn't bother me.
I just want the schedule already. Need to get a ticket for the day Maya Jane Coles performs
...she's the reason you want to go to this? You could see her in NYC in like three weeks if you wanted.
Unfortunately, that's my girlfriends birthday and we have other plans in the city. I'm also going to be in the Miami area the weekend of this fest, so a great excuse to see MJC.
July 30 hurts a lot because it's actually both MJC and Boyz Noize performing that night in NYC, and I can't see either of them. Probably two of my favorite DJs

Gotcha. Coles is great and all, just seemed like an odd artist to hang your hat on, as she's not particularly rare or anything. Makes more sense now.
I also haven't seen her yet, so she's on my bucket list.
I'm going to see LCD Soundsystem at Panorama, so they aren't as much a draw for me with this fest. Although ideally I'd see MJC, Fly Lo, Dixon, and DJ Koze all on one day. Not going to hold my breath.
Thievery Corporation is cool too, but they come to NYC often.
Do they usually have conflicts during the headliners?
Going off of last year's schedule (http://consequenceofsound.net/2015/10/iii-points-music-festival-announces-2015-set-times-radio-broadcast/) it looks like they do, but keep in mind the curfew has been moved to 5AM this year so not sure.

Glad he wasn't added to an already packed Sunday. As long as Vince and LCD don't conflict I'll be happy, but iii Points is usually good about not having conflicts between their higher billed acts so I'm not too worried.
I just want the damn schedule!!!! The lineup is already more than good enough... unless they wanna add The Avalanches...
Unfortunately The Avalanches aren't happening. They were in talks, but had to withdrawal offers from this, the Meadows, Treasure Island, and who knows what else.
Since I'm back in the US now I plan to be there for this.
brb cancelling my hotel
Also, I'm starting to think Leon Vynehall is going to go b2b with someone on Saturday based on his recent b2b sets with Kerri Chandler and Jackmaster and upcoming b2bs with George FitzGerald and Bonobo. My guess would be Ben UFO, Black Coffee, Maya Jane Coles or DJ Tennis.

Damn, that's such a bummer about The Avalanches. With The Meadows rumors I figured they would be in play for this as well before they cancelled all of their dates.
Ughhhh, that Coachella schedule bullshit. I've always talked about how awful I thought it would to get a schedule the week of the fest and now I must face my fears.
