It's a pretty good lineup for what it is. Like a lot of people, I'd go if I lived Orlando or south of there. There are some cool names on the lineup, many that I have seen. But the one that stands out to me is Tim Hecker and the Konoyo Ensemble. We saw Tim do a blackout DJ set at Day for Night, and I thought it was pretty great. I don't follow him enough to know the Konoyo Ensemble.
Not sure what the ensemble is, but Konoyo (album?) is a some brain-challenging ambient. I'd be all over that.
I am totally down with this line up. Lots of depth. Only issue is , Dirtybird Campout was around the same dates last year and both festivals would be a real stretch for me to travel down for.
I hope you’re joking because they’ve been touring that off and on for the better part of this decade.... OB4CL 2 would be a better get, but there are too many features.
Super underwhelmed by this other than the small font dj’s.
They did tour it a few years ago but besides the city, where else did they do a handful of shows? Regardless it's an great chance to hear an incredible album live, when they might not even properly tour behind it again.
I don't know what you're asking here really. But they've been playing it almost constantly since Rock The Bells 2011, and did a giant run of dates for the 20th anniversary. I've seen them play it 3 or 4 times. Is it good live? Yes. Is it unique or a clever booking? No. The same can really be said for the rest of the lineup minus a handful of bookings. This was way over hyped and this is the only lineup this fest has put out that really doesn't intrigue me in the slightest.

Also, great seeing Herbie Hancock on any lineup.
Japanese woodwind. It's gonna be special and easily tops my "most excited to see" list.

Just saw Egyptian Lover, that's always a very fun set. I wish someone would just book Stones Throw for a DJ set at a fest. Maybe it's already happened. Their party for Coachella in palm springs was a great time though.
There were times when DFN was missing out on some of this dance music though.
Yeah I would have loved to have gotten yaeji, koze, ufo, gou at some point. Hopefully one or more make their way through Austin soon (because I doubt they come to Houston without DfN)
Guys I understand this lineup is more hiphop heavy up top. We tried to get a big electronic leftfield piece to balance it out but being in February presents radius clause issues from some of the major festivals that wouldn't have let us announce/book some of major acts.

It's a great and unique lineup, and I'm guessing the hip hop acts at the top will make sure it sells well.
You should stop by the Coachella thread and let us know who some of these big left field electronic acts are

"the entire purpose of the radius clause is to protect AEG from competitors unfairly free-riding on its creative choices in selecting its artist lineup."
Stop trying to unfairly free-ride on their creative choices!

I'm not asking anything. Yes, they toured behind the anniversary three years ago. Since then maybe they've done a show here and there, but nothing to the same extent. *You* might've seen them three or four times so maybe seeing them on a lineup doesn't do anything for you but on the other side of that is someone who's just as big a fan, had one chance to see them, missed it, and has another shot now all while going to a fest offering pretty good acts all around. What other fest has booked Only Built 4 Cuban Linx live in the past few years? You can probably count em on one hand, if there are any at all. Seems unique to me.
Now at the top, if SZA and Tyler are doing the same show they've been touring for the past year at this fest then you can say they're uninspired bookings. Very well could be a different story for those two by them time February rolls around though. This looks like Blood Orange's first show in FL behind Negro Swan. Erykah is still fairly uncommon at fests. As I said before, Rocky never properly toured behind TESTING. In my opinion this is a pretty good lineup, overhyped on a message board or not

It is pretty shitty/outrageous that a festival on the complete opposite side of the continent and taking place 3 months later is effecting their booking.
