Beach House was a disappointment. Virtual Self’s production is ridiculous.
Virtual Self didnt even bring his production. That was all III Points. His actual production is way crazier.
That makes me wanna see it even though I’m not crazy about his music. Ghost Voices is pretty good I guess. This also makes me feel like a lot of Mainframe artists underutilized the production

For 2020 I think Grimes would be a good fit for the fest. Also Robyn would be a dream headliner.
Some other names:
Black Star Empire of the Sun Little Simz (I know you've booked her before and that new album is good) Rosalia Janelle Monae Tierra Whack SBTRKT Helado Negro Pond Lizzo Princess Nokia Kodak Black cupcaKKe Nao BROCKHAMPTON
She definitely wasn’t lip syncing. Her mic was very live, she was just attempting to sing over her own track at max sound levels.
So the mic was on and I just couldn't hear it. Thinking about it more, I could hear organic vocal inflections every now and then, but mostly could just hear the track.
Bumping this to report I could see why you'd think this. Just saw her in Atlanta a few days ago, and at first I thought she was lip synching. Sometimes I could hear differences compared to the backing track, so that confirmed she's not lip synching entirely. Still, seems weird to me she wouldn't use non-vocal tracks for her live shows.
I could clearly hear her over the backing track at Coachella, but I attribute that to the Yuma's amazing sound system. Terminal West in Atlanta...not the greatest sound.
I’ll keep saying it till it happens: Throw us a bone with an indie rock act or two closer to the top.
Like Beach House?
Yeah, one or two more to pair with something like Beach House. I’m pretty sure they were the only rock act on Mind Melt the whole weekend. Ty Segall was cool too, but the genre is underrepresented here.
