To my knowledge Roo and Okee aren't related and Okeechobee isn't owned by AEG or LN. I'm pretty sure they are a stand-alone product run by Soundslinger.
Yeah Paul Peck used to be with Superfly...oops. Them I have no idea why the top line could potentially be that weak. So going off nothing...who isn't being mentioned that could fill the top spot who's worth a damn?

Frank Ocean has enough cache with the young'ns to be a top bill. Frank+Top 40 EDM+ Chance would do well with that demographic in Florida.

So it's not possible they started with Radiohead, couldn't get them. Went to Arcade Fire, couldn't get them. Then went to RHCP, and couldn't get them. Then went into panic mode and booked Kings of Leon? I still fear it possible.

I don't think AF was ruled out entirely, just that negotiations had started to dwindle. I know for a fact that they tried for RHCP and it's not happening.
Oh wait, they were ruled out a few weeks ago and I missed it, hahahahahahahahahaha.
Carry on.
...it was RHCP.
Well they play Thursday in Colorado and Saturday in Arizona. So they'd have to fly all the way to Florida on Friday for Okeechobee. Seems unlikely.
Let's not rule RHCP out just yet due to scheduling on their tour. Notice they have a two week break right before what would be 4 shows in 4 days if they play okeechobee. And it's towards the end of a huge international tour so why not end it with a bang. (Plus.. no florida dates on the schedule)

You're not actually serious, are you?
Look I know it's dreaming a tad because it sounds so crazy to fly to four different locations in four days. But maybe that's why they arranged for a two week break February 18- march 2nd. It's towards the end of their tour and the biggest thing that sticks out to me is the fact that they only have one show in the whole south eastern United States being in New Orleans.

If you look at their entire tour, they have several two-week breaks. They're not going to play shows on consecutive days in Colorado, Florida, and Arizona.

I would suggest you look at the tour schedule for similar massive bands. A lot of them skip the southeast nowadays.

They're not playing. Confirmed by someone who works for the festival.

Looks like the first phase of the lineup came out October 15th last year? Hopefully we get something soon. I'd prefer it if they could have most of the full lineup ready on the first announcement this time.
I'd probably go to Okeechobee just to see Chance in a festival setting. Even though there's like a 99% chance of him playing Bonnaroo also. His show was so much fun a couple days ago, but being confined to a seat not being able to jump and dance around was kind of lame.
I think we got a ways to go, a few weeks at least. Just gut feeling, hope I'm wrong.
seems like it'd be a little more hyped up through their social media if it was coming very soon so I agree with you
Multiple approaches they could take. Yeah some suspense is nice but it wouldn't shock me to see them just release it. They already have the social media following that they lacked last year.
I stood next to Matt Shultz and Paul Peck in the pit for Billy Joel at Roo last year, so I guess Cage The Elephant makes sense as there's a relationship there.
