Just seen Jason Isbell is coming to New Haven on Oct 8th. Never heard of the venue before.
College Street Music Hall? Haven't been either but it only opened up last year. Apparently it's a great venue and it's giving Toad's Place a run for its money.

I'd like to check out New Haven shows, but it never seems to line up for me. That and it's now annoyingly far to get there (~1.75 hours each way)
Speaking of annoyingly far away: Portland, where I'd like to see that Sleep/Windhand show next Friday. So odd there was no Boston date, or that Sleep didn't play PVD like Windhand is.

Didn't Sleep play HOB Boston in 2014? I would like to see them too, but not sure whether the two hour drive is worth it. I do hear great things about the State Theatre.

State Theatre is really nice. Portland is about a 1.5 hour drive for me so I can occasionally convince myself to do shows up there. The venue has great sound, and has a GA floor and GA seating which is one of my favorite venue setups. Unfortunately I don't think they have any AC, so shows can get hot there in the summer. Saw Father John Misty there last year and it felt like an oven. Stepping outside into light rain at the end of the night was a pretty great feeling though
Also for any Americana fans out there, definitely look into the Prescott Park Arts Festival concerts in Portsmouth, NH. Free shows in a nice park on the water with relatively big names throughout the summer.
Partial list: 6/22 - Sara Watkins 6/25 - Yonder Mountain String Band 6/29 - Sarah Jarosz 7/6 - The Tallest Man On Earth 7/8 - Shovels & Rope 7/10 - Dawes 7/13 - Shakey Graves 7/16 - Hurray for the Riff Raff

Yo, who's doing M83 in Boston on Thursday 7/21? I hate the Pavilion but am excited to see a full length set over a festival set from these guys (and gals).
Edit: State Theatre in Portland the night before looks even sicker, but can't be bothered to travel myself that week.

If you did not attend you totally missed out! Best night I've had yet at the Pavilion. Perfect weather, enough genuine fans at the front, and M83 totally killed it.

I saw Spoon there last summer. Really fantastic venue! Agreed on the GA seating, I really love that they do that.
Mumfords @ The Dunk Massive Attack @ Boch/Wang Calling
I saw Algiers is opening for Downtown Boys at the Columbus in PVD, 50-50 on that one.
Good stuff. banking on Massive Attack announcing a 2nd date since I failed to get tix. Hoping more tours get announced because there arent many shows coming up next year that appeal to me so far.
For the rest of the year, I have tickets for: 11/20 Rufus Du Sol, 11/24 Pinegrove, 11/25 The Menzingers, 11/30 Cloud Nothings, 12/1 Snail Mail, 12/12 Gang of Youths, 12/28 Bad Rabbits, 12/29 Ballroom Thieves Might add on: 12/9 Mumford with Maggie Rogers, 12/10 The Japanese House, 12/26 The Roots
2019 I have tickets for: 1/26 Bruce in the USA, 1/31 Gryffin, 2/21 The Knocks, 3/3 The Aces, 3/11 Robyn, 5/16-19 Frank Turner, 5/24-26 Boston Calling Might add on: 1/19 Guster, 2/14 Car Seat Headrest, 2/19 Andrew McMahon, 2/25 Arkells, 2/27 Mumford & Sons (Providence), 3/23 Maggie Rogers (Portland), 3/26 Gary Clark Jr, 3/27 Big Wild, 4/10 Muse
I just won a pair of tickets to see The Menzingers at House of Blues on Sunday night, and I only have need for one ticket. Anyone who wants the ticket can have the other one, but there's a catch. There are three bands playing and I don't feel like spending that many hours at the HoB, so I'm planning on stopping there, picking up my tickets at Will Call, and then heading back there later.
Should they say that you've got to enter the venue right after picking up the tickets, I'm just going to go and return to Will Call later, so you may end up missing the opening acts, too.
I'm going to call them ahead of time and get more info, so I should know more before Sunday, as to their contest winner Will Call pickup policies.

FWIW, I've picked up free tickets at the House of Blues before (both at the will call as well as the foundation room line), and I never had to enter right away.

Pinegrove was breathtaking last night, they played Skylight and Cardinal in full too. One of the few instances where an artist is better live than on studio records.

That was my first time seeing them and wow yeah they were amazing.
Somewhat unrelated, but I'm starting to get sick of how crowded sold-out Sinclair shows are. Me and my friend basically had our heels hanging off over the stairs at the back of the floor the whole time. I feel like sold out shows there a year or two ago were never quite as crowded as they have been this year. Maybe it's just that I'm older and grumpier now.
