Suspicious gap in Roger Waters' tour dates. I know he's not headlining, but maybe an acoustic set like what he did with MMJ at Newport?
May 26 Kansas City, MO Sprint Center May 28 Louisville, KY KFC Yum! Center May 30 St. Louis, MO Scottrade Center Jun 1 Tulsa, OK BOK Center Jun 3 Denver, CO Pepsi Center Jun 7 San Jose, CA SAP Center at San Jose Jun 12 Sacramento, CA Golden 1 Center Jun 14 Phoenix, AZ Gila River Arena
no TN date at all, tour ends in Atlanta June 7... Yeah they're playing Bonnaroo. Never seen them but have wanted to for the past 3 years! And they play Emo's so chances are i'll see them at least twice in 2017.
they really are a ton of fun. saw them on their most recent tour where they hit up a bunch of tiny venues/bars before the album dropped, such a good time. they're an act that everyone should see this summer.

Incoming album announcement? I really hope so! I didn't know where else to share this, but it would be cool if they played some fests this summer, would love a Roo show! I've seen them three times and they never disappoint.
Pretty sparse is generous. There were probably only a few hundred people there (Sang certified).
But as Nick Cave told us, we were the cream of the crop.

The last truly great LN booking from Bonnaroo?
It's shocking how far they've fallen in just a few short years.
To this day, my favorite late night act is probably Gogol Bordello in 2011.
To my tastes, the 2006 My Morning Jacket Late Night is the gold standard:
Set One Wordless Chorus It Beats 4 U (with Andrew Bird) What a Wonderful Man One Big Holiday Older Guys (The Flying Burrito Brothers cover) Head Held High (The Velvet Underground cover) Lowdown (with Andrew Bird) The Way That He Sings Master Plan At Dawn Golden Gideon (with Andrew Bird) X-Mas Curtain Dondante (with KC Guetig on Percussion,… more ) Dancefloors Anytime Mahgeetah
Set Two A Quick One (While He's Away)(The Who cover) (with KC Guetig on Percussion,… more ) Loving Cup (The Rolling Stones cover) Easy Morning Rebel (with KC Guetig on Percussion,… more ) Attitude (Misfits cover) (KC Guetig on Percussion, Mike DeSalvo on guitar) Off the Record Lay Low The Dark The Bear (with Andrew Bird) I Will Sing You Songs Heartbreakin Man Evelyn Is Not Real (with KC Guetig on Percussion,… more ) It's About Twilight Now It Makes No Difference (The Band cover) Phone Went West (with KC Guetig on Percussion,… more ) Run Thru
Watched part of it in the crowd next to Shooter Jennings and Drea DeMateo to boot...
Did the singer of The Orwells fall in the bushes or something at Shaky Knees this year?
everytime ive seen them hes been beyond smashed. most recent time he jumped into the crowd and pointed at the disco ball on the ceiling so we all lifted him up and he ripped it out of the ceiling. fun guy.

Sounds like that might be a shitty thing to do
eh, kinda. ive seen worse. im sure they made him pay for it. the point im trying to make is that even though he gets sloshed he is still a really fun performer and sounds great.

Not sure if there's a thread for comedy to post this in but Chris Rock just announced a tour that ends June 3rd and completely skips Tennessee. It'd be cool to see him as the top comedy act on the lineup. Plus he has a history with the fest since he was there in '08.

“Music has always been a matter of Energy to me, a question of Fuel. Sentimental people call it Inspiration, but what they really mean is Fuel. I have always needed Fuel. I am a serious consumer. On some nights I still believe that a car with the gas needle on empty can run about fifty more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio.” - Hunter Thompson

If they got Chris Rock, maybe they could also get his pal Dave Chappelle? And if they got those two, maybe they could also get their pals A Tribe Called Quest?

The xx into U2 sounds like a pretty amazing Sunday evening to me.
This would be an absolutely fantastic way to end Roo. The only problem I have with it is I'm not sure The xx are able to deliver in large outdoor festival settings, I saw them last time at Roo and it just didn't click, they sounded fantastic but the intimacy of the music gets lost on big stages.

I went from the what stage pit for Macca to chilling in the back for xx and then made my way up front for Pretty Lights. Still one of the greatest nights at Roo I ever had.
