Compete BS. I know nothing. Just checked yesterday and there was a cover band that all vouchers had been used.
So are they regularly releasing shows or is it like last time where they will be doing a bunch at once?
I said it once, I will say it again. Worst settlement ever. What a fucking joke. AND it did nothing to change their out-of-control, stupid high fees which is why they had to settle to begin with. Fucking ridiculous.

I saved like $2.25 on a show once using a voucher. It was awesome! Almost bought a beer with that savings.

At a live nation venue. BS almost buying a beer with that, beer is like 12$ at every livenation venue

So you saved MAYBE 25% of the fees you paid for that ticket.
I got to see Cheap Trick, Heart, Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, Def Leppard, REO Speedwagon and Tesla for free. Also got $2.50 off Josh Ritter.
I intend to make the best out of this situation.
They only offered New Orleans cover bands I could see for free. And how much were the fees on that $2.50 off ticket? That discount doesn't even cover a quarter of the fees they charge. I've been to one Ticketmaster show this year and I plan on less next year. I refuse to pay those fees. If it's a must see, I will go to the venue's ticket window or buy secondhand. No house of blues shows but it is worth it to not support ticketmaster. We are lucky enough to have enough venues that either have the ticket window, which don't charge fees, or use ticketfly, ticketweb, or front gate/winter circle. Fuck Ticketmaster and those fees.

Ya, thankfully there aren't many Ticketmaster venues in Austin. Besides Tool, I can't even remember the last time I bought a Ticketmaster ticket. I think the fees were close to $15-20 on that Tool ticket too. Fuckers.
I used a voucher to get tickets to hall and oates with sharon jones and trombone shorty and one for heart/joan jett/cheap trick. and $2.50 off my DeadCo tickets (which cost me ~$350, so, yay?)
then everything sold out. looks like my only option at this point is Strutter - A Tribute to Kiss...in Raleigh, NC.

I just can't imagine how they were able to settle this by making the plaintiffs purchase things in order to receive money from the lawsuit. Red Bull a few years ago just gave out free Red Bull or a check and it ended up being a pretty sweet deal. This is not.
I guess that my take on it is that I did nothing to address Ticketmaster's fees. I filed no lawsuit and yet I still got a benefit out of it. Do I wish it were easier to use and more broadly applied? Of course. But I put nothing of myself into this situation and still came away with something so I'm not gonna get upset about it.

I've been regularly checking the site, they haven't added anything since last July. My guess is they'll announce a bunch of undersold shows again sometime in the late spring/early summer.

Exactly. It is the dumbest settlement ever, and I just don't understand how they can pay out their settlement this way. You would think that a company that lost a lawsuit due to the outrageous fees they ARE STILL charging, would have been ordered to not have stupid outrageous fees and everyone gets a refund of some amount. Such bullshit.

But that is what makes it worse. Because you didn't have to do anything, and they are now giving you discounts its all good. They ripped you off to begin with, the courts ordered them to compensate us and it is fucking ridiculous the payout. But everyone is just complacent about it because they didn't have to do anything. You did do something. You bought tickets that they fucked you over in fees. You should be compensated for them fucking you over. AND, they will continue to fuck us in fees until we decide we have enough and stop using them. I know that means not going to must see shows and missing out, but that is the only way they will change because as we have seen a lawsuit will not make them change. They have to be hit where it hurts and that means that bands need to stand up to them also. Which will also never happen.
Oh, AND the Apple ebook settlement was at the same time as this. I never filed, I never did anything and I woke up to over $90 on my Barnes & Noble account from that settlement. They didn't nickel and dime those that spent more than they should have, they compensated them with money. The way a business should take care of their customers. Which shows how Ticketmaster really feels about their customers.
First of all, I already fought this fight with Pearl Jam back in the 90's.
Second of all, they didn't fuck me over. They charged fees that I accept as part of a ticket transaction. I am not naive enough to expect the listed ticket price to match the final ticket price. The same holds true of my phone and cable bills.
When I have the energy and desire, I'll sell out alternate avenues of getting tickets but in general, I understand that going to shows is not a right. It's a product that they're selling. All of the pricing information is there before I confirm my purchase. Do I think that the fees are too high? Yes. Are they too high? Obviously not or people would stop buying tickets from them.

You are right. Going to a show is a privilege not a right and fees are part of any transaction. IMO, that doesn't justify charging the fees that they do; they are too high or they wouldn't have lost the lawsuit and have had to payout this bullshit settlement that they are paying out. And it didn't matter that they lost, they are still charging the same amount because people are still buying their product.
To make matter worse, in some places they are the only way to buy tickets to any shows. Plus, artists continue to use them or be in contract with them so you are forced to buy through them which is why they still have the outrageous fees because the public is still willing to buy and maybe complain about the fees.
If your bill's fees had the same percentage of fees that ticketmaster has you would be outraged about it (My current electricity bill is $131.96 and the fees are $12.33; My Cox Cable bill is $81 and the fees are literally $.70; My water bill is $88.61 and the fees are $2.35; When Sia tickets went on special, they were $20 each and the fees were $15 each - that fee percentage is jacked).
I personally have been boycotting them since the lawsuit and will continue because they are out of control and I refuse to accept their fees. If others would do the same it would force them to change policy, but as long as people continue to buy, whether it's the only choice or FOMO on their favorite band they will continue to charge what they are charging.
Just so everyone is clear, they weren't sued for charging too much in fees. They were sued because they were misrepresenting that they were making a profit on the fees. We live in a free market economy, Ticketmaster can charge whatever they want.

Good to know, I didn't realize it was due to misrepresenting. And they can totally charge what they want; it doesn't make it right or makes me change my mind how I feel about them and about boycotting them. I just wish more people had the ability to not buy from them or challenge their fee practice because they are really out of control, and the settlement is dumb and not worth anything (at least for me in NOLA).

The only interesting show that could possibly come up for me down in Miami is Young the Giant and they are booked the same night as Arcade Fire so that's a no brainer for me....
I still have a shit ton of discount vouchers, and yeah they didn't need to give us anything, but this constant will they-wont they-post shows-run out of tickets cycle sucks and is fruitless. At this point I'd rather trade my free shows for more discounts.
I now retract my previous statement, although, I'd still like to choose between them.
