I'll be upset too if it means a 2015 like nosedive for the rest of the lineup.
that's a legitimate argument, whereas on reddit and FB it'll all be "she doesn't fit the firefly vibe" and "its only gonna attract teenage girls".
Well right. If it does by some crazy event end up being Beyonce - Muse - 21P I just hope the undercard isn't gutted. I'd prefer the 2016 route where there are three (well four with Deadmau5) average headliners and the undercard is solid. Personally I always just want one headliner to look forward to, so as long as Muse is there I can be happy. Beyonce isn't really my thing but I'd be excited to see it.

Beyonce' - Muse - Twenty One Pilots feels ridiculous just typing. Even with TOP in there thats simply way too stacked for firefly. Petty feels realistic and we know firefly loves repeats.
Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers - Muse - Twenty One Pilots - Phoenix - Chance The Rapper - Odesza - Bryson Tiller

Fri- Muse Sat- 21P Sun- Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers
I'm not buying the Tom Petty rumors. If Firefly is going to book a repeat headliner from 2013, I think RHCP makes much more sense.
i get where you're coming from, but petty feels very plausible considering he is playing mountain jam that weekend, which is close by but still outside the radius clause.

The thing that makes the Beyonce - Muse - 21P rumor interesting is that with the other rumored headliners (RHCP and Tom Petty), both are repeats. And since 21P is really a repeat too, Beyonce - Muse - 21P would be the only one between the three without 2 repeat headliners. Obviously 21P wasn't a headliner when they played before, but they still have already played the festival twice.

RHCP is just as plausible given their tour dates. Plus, Firefly has only had two classic rock/legend headliners. It would be odd if they booked one of those only a few years later.

i dont think any repeats are off limits after the killers headlining in 2012 and 2015

Seems completely realistic for Firefly.
I have a friend who planned their wedding for the Sat of Firefly! All I need is Muse not to play Sat and everything is fine by me!
That's right in my neck of the woods, I probably will actually. I wouldn't mind if they returned. I missed their show in 2014 but when I have seen them in recent years (as Phantogram or Big Grams) they put on a good show.

I saw them in 2014 and again last month in Philly. I'd say it's a pretty telling sign that this show is "presented by Firefly" that they'll be there in June.

There are gonna be some other shows around the northeast sponsored by the festival

They will put out the lineup before there's a "Firefly Presents" event, I'd imagine. So with that said, I think the lineup comes out Tuesday Jan 10th. Coachella's lineup out January 3rd. Beyonce on both

Beyonce at FF is definitely not a sure thing. I'd say probably not.

Really hope FF didn't book Beyonce, that would suck.
I'm down for Phantogram, I love their new album and missed them at FF in 2014. I saw Big Grams at Lolla this year and enjoyed it, and also caught the Phantogram aftershow at the House of Blues, but the place was so packed we were unable to see the stage for the most part. They sounded sick though and it was the first time they played some new songs so that was cool.
So this is my last attempt at a mock. Headliners are.. well.. "not all headliners" but 🙃

I would pray that Firefly wouldn't promote two repeat acts as headliners in the same year. I don't even think they would do that. I think the 2nd/3rd lines (or the equivalent) in this mock are probably too strong, you'd probably have to scrap off QOTSA and a few others. Otherwise it looks pretty good.
Edit- Also I may borrow some of this to make a mock of my own. I have been meaning to anyway.

I like it! I don't think The Gaslight Anthem will be back next year though Overall some good names here. I've been meaning to see The Districts, and I think Mac Miller would attract a decent sized crowd at Firefly.

Where do I sign? The headliners suck but the undercard would more than make up for it.
