RHCP will def be returning, but I'd think it's another year away.
Pearl Jam - Arcade Fire - The Weeknd/Kendrick Lamar Jack U - Vampire Weekend - Smashing Pumpkins - Bassnectar - Paramore
Have the Smashing Pumpkins performed at any festivals in the past few years. I wouldn't put it past Billy Corgan to be "too cool for fests."
Yea they haven't, but Firefly seems to be able to get those type of 90's acts. I forgot about the PJ vs. SP beef too. Billy may not like being on the same card as them either.
21P will probably get the Imagine Dragons "legendary" returning act slot. I think they got like an hour and a half set in 2014.
I have no idea if I would want to see SP now a days. 21P headlining/co-headlining seems inevitable they way they are selling out Amphitheaters months ahead of time. I would like to see them, just not for $40 + $12 in fees.

Pearl Jam - Arcade Fire - The Weeknd - Skrillex - 21 Pilots
I really think Pearl Jam will be the #1 because theyve been on many firefliers wishlists since they started doing the surveys. Arcade Fire is also very likely since theyve never been here and theyre likely releasing a new album next year (according to Will Butlers AMA)

I would cross off any hip-hop or EDM artists as one of the top 3 headliners for Firefly. They've never done it, they're always rock, and as a 90,000 person festival that basically sells out they can fill in that demo with the 4-10 range like they did with DeadMau5, Major Lazer and Disclosure. Then they just prop up one of those as the "4th headliner".
They've never seemed too interested in Rap/Hip-hop so I don't think they'd dedicate the $$ to get Drake/Weeknd/Kendrink/Chance/Frank. Maybe Kanye or Jay Z but still a long shot IMHO.

In all seriousness, I think this festival actually has a decent chance of landing Arcade Fire next year. I expect them to hit the North American festival circuit pretty hard, and with Arcade Fire playing Panorama this year, Gov Ball (Firefly's biggest regional competitor) is probably out of the running. Other than that, it's a crapshoot. I have a feeling they will try to book a legend headliner (someone like Bruce, Elton, or Stevie, as they did in 2013 and 2015, but it wouldn't shock me if RHCP are the #1 act on the bill. Firefly loves repeats, and RHCP last played in 2013 when the festival was much smaller.

They had Outkast three years ago.
That seemed like a special circumstance to me. I would almost consider them a legacy headliner that came back on tour that literally no festival could say no to. Not sure how many other cases like that exist out there, if any. I meant more of the current R&B and rap headliner contenders.
Lana as a number 2 would be quite disappointing. Throw Arcade Fire as the number 2 instead and thats not a terrible top line
If Ellie Goulding wasn't number 2 then no way in hell Lana is a number 2!! Just don't see it!
Lana's headlining Osheaga this year, and she was 4th at Gov Ball last year. Like it or not, she's probably a headliner at this point (and 4th at the lowest).
My guess: Pearl Jam - Arcade Fire - Calvin Harris Lorde - Chance the Rapper - J. Cole - Avett Brothers Alt-J - Flume - The xx - Panic! at the Disco - Paramore Haim - Incubus- Young the Giant - Bryson Tiller The Chainsmokers - Brand New - Foals - Chet Faker The Head and the Heart - Run the Jewels - Zhu - Leon Bridges
My wish: Radiohead - Arcade Fire - Stevie Wonder Bon Iver - The Avalanches - Frank Ocean - David Byrne Tame Impala - Sufjan Stevens - James Blake - Haim St. Vincent - Jamie xx - Beach House - Grimes - M.I.A. FKA Twigs - Carly Rae Jepsen - Courtney Barnett - Glass Animals The War on Drugs - Joanna Newsom - Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings

This name has Firefly written all over it
I feel like you can pencil in The Weeknd or Calvin Harris as the third headliner as well as ZHU and Paramore somewhere in the lineup (based on the website mistake).
