And strangely enough, it appears that LD is indulging in Black Friday rather than picketing it. There might be hope for him just yet. I think the yardstick to measure that by is whether he grabbed one of these:

The Townies don't win anymore. Our citizens are stupid. Our Inspectors are stupid. And the Mafia, they are much smarter, much more cunning. They just hide around because our leaders are dumb. You need someone like me pointing this out. Nobody was talking about it until I was around. I told you the townies are a bunch of frauds and losers.
The big problem is being politically correct. And frankly, I don't have time for that and this town doesn't have time for it either.
We need to make the town great again. See the problem is we tell the world "oh I think zig is mafia we should vote for him" and then the mafia can adjust accordingly. There's a reason we've been fighting the mafia for our entire adult lives. All talk no action townies. We will hit the mafia by surprise and knock the hell out of them. Believe me. It will be huge.

The lady dragged me out. In RI and MA, stores are closed on Thanksgiving and can't open until 1201 am on Friday. Her sister is pregnant with twins and didn't want to go out. Her mom had to work today and didn't want to stay out shopping all night. I got signed up to take their place.
The only thing I got was a laptop and a couple CDs. 95% of the night was for her.

Sure, act like it was a one-time thing...
This year, she's pregnant with twins. Next year, she'll have her hands full with twins. Within five years, you'll be spending your Thanksgiving camped outside a mall.
Black Friday here was sitting in pajamas, eating leftovers and putting up the Christmas tree. I will never under any circumstance shop on Black Friday (except online). I hate crowds. (They seriously give me anxiety).
I have to admit, I did visit my local Wal-Mart around 11:00 last night after the kid was in bed. Like it or not, it was the only place in town still open to grab beer.
I bought him the new goddamn Skylanders game while I was at it. I fucking hate those stupid games. But Santa Claus generally DGAF what I hate. At least I snagged the last one off their shelf at half price, since Plan A was to spend a bit more to just order it online.
Everyone loves to say "Dammit Zig" about the last game, but the truth is Viking played the town like a fiddle. I watched the whole time thinking, "I wouldn't be falling for this flip flopping nordic!" but it's easy to say that as a ref looking from the outside in. I felt like Viking could say anything and not even rely on the other mafia to assist because the town was eating it up without any need for other mafia to put themselves out at all. I learned more about mafia as ref in the last game than all the previous games put together.
As well as Viking played everyone, I feel like the last game was lost by townies. Viking went from "Damn it, I'm the dick known as Viking!" to "Wow guys, this is going bad, vote for someone else."

It was the worst. I hope never to do that again. Got dragged to the mall. Lines hundreds of people deep, lines to check out an hour long. Barely able to move around in certain areas. Why do people enjoy this?
The crazy part is, buying my laptop from Staples was the quickest and most painless part of the night. Waited only minutes, a line of 10 people that only gathered a few minutes before 6 am, was out the store in about five minutes.

There's no alcohol sales here on Thanksgiving. Nor beer at Walmart. All three southern New England states are like that.

This is ridiculous. This is what you should petition your legislators over. You'd probably have greater success being pro-beer than anti-Black Friday.
Wisconsin does beer sales from 8am until midnight 7 days a week, 365 days a year - with the wine/liquor cutoff at 9pm. Anything short of that strikes me as ridiculous.
In my city, Wal-Mart and the grocery stores flexed their muscles when the gas stations wanted liquor licenses and the city council caved. Our one dedicated liquor store in town has to close at 9pm. Gas station sales cutoff is at 10pm. Only Wal-Mart and the grocery stores get to sell from 10pm to midnight. I didn't get home until after 10pm and the grocery stores had limited hours for the holiday, so Wal-Mart was my only choice at 11pm.

It was busy, but not insane by that point.
It's a gray area. Most alcohol sales are done by small independent businesses and not chain stores. There's limits on how gets licenses and how many are given out. Most pro beer legislation is seen as attacking the local retailers.
so just a heads up at my new job I'm not allowed to use my phone at all except during breaks so participation during shifts will be extremely limited. I've spent to much time either not working or getting screwed over by startups that don't pay employees and telemarketing companies that want me to harass people I'm not about to fuck up a position I'll like at a solid company

Heads up: Estimated game start of late Monday night, likely between the end of Packers on Monday Night Football and midnight Central. That should make the initial D1R1 deadline around noon on Wednesday, with of course flexibility to extend if need be.
In the meantime, don't expect to hear from me until game time. I have use of a truck tomorrow until mid-afternoon before work and Monday after business hours, along with however many solo car trips, and I need to make the most of that time.
