But seriously guys, I don't think Bjork is going to actually be there in person, she may literally be phoning it in. Will be interesting to see. It's being billed as a "digital set".
I'm bith really excited and nervous to see the rest of the line up. Y'all are in for a good time.
Not to mention the artist line up too. I know we're all about the musics here, but the light installations last year were mind blowing. Just as exciting as the music. So be sure to look up YouTube videos of the light artists too when you have some downtime.

Interesting. She did a digital art thing for Vivid in Sydney. Sounds like something that would transfer well to this event too. It wasn't a musical performance at all, from what I understand.
WORLD PREMIERE CARRIAGEWORKS AND VIVID SYDNEY PRESENT BJÖRK DIGITAL ” i felt it is time to premier my recent virtual reality stuff and delighted to do so in sydney .
we have made seven 360 videos for vulnicura and i am enthusiastic about this natural continuity of the music video : the intimacy , total merge of surround sound and vision makes VR an ideal home ! looking forward to celebrate it dj’ing with some good friends there !!
you´re welcome
warmthness , björk. “
Divided into five unique spaces the visitor is invited to explore Björk Digital – the premiere of a new virtual reality project from the musician, alongside other collaborations with some of the finest filmmakers and programmers in the world.
To celebrate the opening of the Björk Digital exhibition as part of Vivid Sydney 2016, Björk will travel to Sydney to curate two nights of music at Carriageworks, where she will DJ for five hours on Friday 3 June and Saturday 4 June 2016.
So she did do a DJ set along with the VR 360 stuff...

Cool. A dude on the Coachella board said she's doing a 360 degree VR/AR Dj Set in addition to another set so maybe that's the "phoning it in" thing you're talking about.
apparently this was her set up during her DJ sets in Sydney for the VR stuff... Wonder if she'll be doing it that up close and personal again, or if she'd be on a stage. Last year the art installations were all very interactive and you could get right up on them. No separation at all. So if this is considered an "art installation" rather than a musical one then I'm interested to see how they set it up.

Yes, this fest is my favorite not just because of the interesting musical acts, but the fascinating art installations they include as well. A stacked musical line-up is one thing, trying to fit in cool light show experiences? There will be no downtime at this fest. Conflict-guaranteed.
Definitely in it for the digital art as well and llz, fuzzy, tex and some homeboys convinced me on this. CoS noted this is the first Aphex Twin show in 17 years one could purchase tickets in advance for. That's pretty cool. I only know a couple of his songs (everyone knows Windowlicker), so I'll study up between now and December. Still tripping on Buttholes though. Haha. They will rule.

Can't wait for the Aphex Twin set delivered via Facebook Messenger.
Let's just say, this lineup Dave Maynar and are going to love. Looks a bit like an ATP lineup.
This, and the news of Aphex Twin have me really psyched for the reveal tomorrow. So glad I bought the blind presale.
The art installations looks pretty mind blowing, can't wait to see what they come up with this year. I'm hoping they keep the venue open late, even when the music is over, for people to just roam around. Monie , did they do that last year?

Sadly, no, they didn't. But they billed it as "Saturday-Monday" this year, which makes me think things will be open past midnight this year, which was not the case as last year. It would be cool if the music stopped at 11 or 12 or whatever and the art installations were open till like 2. With the packed music schedule this year sounds like you'll need it.
