The moment seems to have passed. I guess it's still an option, but I feel like we're a little to far removed from the album for it to be likely in any way. I'd still love it. That album has some really great songs
Middle Brother just came back to play after not having an album for 5 or 6 years.
Jim James and Taylor Goldsmith are easy gets for the festival. They know it and love it and play an important part of it's success. After seeing how much fun he was having with different acts this year I could see Elvis Costello coming back, too. Mumford and Rhiannon are a bit of a tougher get but I think the stars could align at some point. If any festival can pull it off I think NFF could do it.
I agree. Especially with Newport being the place it'd happen. I'd actually be willing to bet that if they do play again, it'd be at Newport. There's no more perfect place given the music, the idea, and the people. To me, the album didn't seem to get the response they were hoping for. Middle Brother were pretty raved about in their fan community, while NBT just seemed to happen and then fade away. Maybe if they'd toured behind it initially I'd be a little less skeptical of them getting back together
Another great year my love... a hair anti-climatic after last years line up (for me), all went great, but gosh I'm So tired. It's a lot of work having QC.. I was off my game socially, wanted to go hide with MPT and JJB, did not get any time with Cath and Michelle, it was so hot.. and we can't seem to get the gang on the board to understand we're not exclusive, we were all strangers at some point ... come hang, share the shade, talk, not talk, whatever. JCruso kept talking about not staying too long. ?? We're all in it together. Everyone helped out so much this year but I'm still so tired. And several peeps were already talking about 'next year'.... Can i do another year my love?

Catch up - brmackie did come and stay at QC with his beautiful lady. OMG what great humor they have, aussie accents... and crazy troopers.. stayed out in their tent during that insane storm on friday. Ben slept while his lovely lady texted us from the back yard saying she was sure they were going to die. (took a little license there.. )
Quacker and i got to do a surprise backstage deal Saturday thanks to one of our misfits with connections. It was fun to get to check it all out. Saw some(few) notable folks back there, but mostly other folks that had connections. Most of the artists were in the artist only area. Appreciated the free water immensely. And getting to stand next to Nathaniel. Blush, giggle, snort. Didn't bother or say a word. Just enjoyed the proximity. It was priceless to run into BRMackie and say ' never know what kind of riffraff they let back here eh?' Watched Amy Helm from the deck. Really digged being able to see the whole set lists taped to the floor deal and all the drum kits for the different bands staged in the wings. You know you cant even take water into the VIP areas? Saturday, hotter than balls, no water! All in all the best three things about that magical pass a) quackers smile as he sucked down free oysters and beer, b) the short cut from the fort to the quad!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and c) peeling off the sticker and slapping it onto a good man who always does all he can and more for QC and went to the airport thursday at 11 pm to pick up the delayed 6pm arrivee... Can't thank our connected misfit enough for that experience.
TY MPT for the cameo!! I cant get liquored up and go clean or wash dishes at NFF so come get me next year.

Conor Oberst announced a new solo, acoustic album coming out in October on Facebook yesterday. I noticed Jay Sweet commented on a new picture he posted saying "Come to Newport" or something along those lines.

Definitely wouldn't be surprised to see him come back and do a completely solo show. Especially given the amount of those we got this year

This kid! I loved him. He looks like he's 12, but he was 16. He was there from Long Island with his older brother to see his #1 man, Conor Oberst. I tried to hit on him, tried to get him drunk on VV. He wasn't having it.

Problem with Weir is 1. I'm guessing The National will be touring next summer so he'd need a different band (unless they make the timing work out) and 2. Dead & Co. could be touring again next summer. We'll have to wait and see

Yea, it's not very likely. I wouldn't mind him just doing a small acoustic solo set but not sure if he does that kind of thing anymore. Getting the slot like Del & Dawg got would be pretty neat. Maybe the stage would be too small but not sure.
