Has anyone watched this? If you have not, then I suggest that you do. So many fun facts, and gives a great perspective of this great festival. He even mentions reading comments online , and I'm confident that he is talking about us.

I have so much respect for Jay.
Take the hour, and watch this.
Watching the recap video at the start made me tear up as they always do. But this was great, thanks for sharing!

Anderon .Paak seems like a stretch but I'd be thrilled. Would be a much better hip-hop act than Raury, though that's not too hard.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
Yes, but I am also a little confused as a basic level. Ballroom Thieves requested Action Bronson to play at Newport? Seems really random and I don't feel like I often see artists requesting other artists, but I also don't may attention as much as some of you do.

I hope to make it back next year now that I'm not in the middle of a move and am no longer on a student budget.
To respond to Newport's request post, I picked several bands that I don't think have played:
The Hunts Beirut Miner Kacey Musgraves The Dodos Twin Forks
The funniest thing happened after that. The Hunts then went and liked that post!
And my top choice:
Bruce Springsteen and the Seeger Sessions Band (I still think this would be the ultimate get for Newport. I used to think it was 100% impossible, but since they nabbed Roger Waters I now only think it's 85% impossible)

I think Beirut's time may have passed for this album run. They were one of my biggest wishes this year, but I think they've wound things down for now.
If we're going hip-hop I vote for Run the Jewels, i think they would fit particularly well
The political aspect of RTJ definitely connects them to the folk world more than a lot of other current hip-hop artists. But I don't see Newport booking them.
On the subject of hip-hop though. A cool idea would be to do a Museum Stage set of rappers and folk artists collaborating. Would love to see someone like Blake Mills, or Gary Clark Jr., or Jim James doing something with someone like Killer Mike

They are one of those bands that puts on shows even in off years. If I remember, the year they played the TURF festival in Toronto they kind of weren't doing much else.
Ok, I was thinking about taking a break from NFF next year and after reading everyone's comments and wish lists I'm hooked again. Maybe it was some residual heat stroke that was clouding my judgement! Back in!!! I'm seeing John Moreland, Frightened Rabbits, Langhorne Slim, Arc Iris,Kishi Bashi, and Sara Watkins in the next couple of months. Let the predictions continue please.
