Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

Hoping to do the Thursday show. Never been to a Blues Cafe aftershow but have walked by when they've been going on and have always been jealous. Langhorne Slim always brings it. Gonna be a great way to start the weekend.
If I can actually sort it out this year, I'm hoping to do Friday JPT and Sat. both. Wish I could do that Thurs. show, but coming from two hours away instead of staying in town has its downsides

The five of them have a pretty solid rolodex of friends/collaborators to pull in as guests.
Maybe Eric will bring in Jim and Carl
Kaufman has produced or contributed on albums by The National, Bob Weir, Josh Ritter, Hiss Golden Messenger, and a lot of other people
Robin Pecknold apparently did some recording with Kevin Morby, so I'm hoping he'll be there.
Maybe a Nick Offerman/Megan Mullally appearance?
Sam Cohen is the musical director for The Complete Last Waltz shows, which have featured all four of the other guys along with plenty of familiar Newport faces. I could see any of Nels Cline, Langhorne Slim, Matt Vasquez, or Nicole Atkins popping up.

I think that thursday gig ended earlier they played a set that was a couple songs shorter then the other nights with less openers i remember arc iris was that night but can't remember the other act and no guests with deer tick. Sort of felt like they took it easy on everyone so they wouldn't be tired for the whole weekend

Yeah, only the one opener I think, but DT still played a 15 song set. Last year's Thursday with Langhorne went till at least 12:50 (time stamp on a photo on my phone).

Definitely don't remember it being that late but i'm sure last year was consistent with year before. Crazy that night was a 15 song set and i think saturday night was more like 23 or 24 and probably ended the same time

Feel like I may go for one Jane Picken's and one Deer Tick if possible. At this point it's leaning towards me going to the fest so getting one or two late nights would be solid.
