Roots just announced a few dates in NY with Dave Chapelle. Right after folk weekend. So they could collaborate for the chuck set. At least geographically it could happen.

I'm totally feeling that too, especially for that Chuck set with Nathaniel Rateliff in tow. Also bringing this up again but I'm so feeling an appearance by Bob Weir, Lock'n announced him guesting for The Avett Brothers headlining set plus he's collaborated in the past with Alone & Together. Makes one wonder...

Headlining Jazz already
Yeah I know. Was saying they could be at both, like Norah last year.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
Does anyone remember when the schedule comes out? I can wait to get that and start planning. I wonder if they'll have a few mystery blank spots on the schedule like they did in 2015. Is Bill Withers a possible show at the Grandma's Hands band?
Thumbs up -- a sometimes rainy, but wonderful Saturday at Pete Seeger's Hudson River Revival. Looks like Lake Street Dive is adding keyboards, and Toshi Reagon reminded us this needs to be a movement year. Found a new act (for me) I just loved -- Martha Redbone (Roots Project). Now, hope the rain gods have at their thrill and will leave Newport alone this year.
Responding to my own post feels akin to liking myself on Facebook, but although the rain gods may be kind this year, this Lyte thing is not. It would be nice if someone could figure out a better way to stop the scalpers. Also beginning to wonder how Lyte is distributing its tix. Or perhaps no one uses it.
That's mine. Looks like me and Camden are mostly on the same page. All of the differences could kind of go either way. But as ou can see I also left a spot for an unannounced Sunday artist. Probably bad to get my hopes up, but I have all my fingers crossed for Megafaun

Idea: American Acoustic set, second last on Quad, then go straight into unannounced guest, Bob Weir, with the AA fellas backing him.

That would also be really cool. But putting two legends up against each other, even partially, feels a little cruel. If it was Bob I'd think maybe they'd put him on the Fort and then have Speak Out close the quad
My garbage logic was that american acoustic will close out the quad because sara is such a big part of newport
yeah I figured in the absence of a special guest this american acoustic set would just be a longer set to accommodate all the people that are a part of it.

I'm so for this. I was just talking with some guys also going and this is what we came up with for Bobby: Friday: During Festival: Alone & Together with Bob Weir showing up for 1 or 2 songs After Party: Alone & Together with Special Guests including Bob Weir and members of Fleet Foxes and My Morning Jacket
Saturday: The Avett Brothers with special guest Bob Weir (doing same thing at Lockn the month after)
Wilco featuring Bob Weir
Sunday: Bob Weir surprise Solo set on museum stage as well as a special appearance at the "Speak Out" celebration

Oh shit, I was mixing up Alone & Together and American Acoustic. Cancel my plans. I don't think AA will back Bob.
#12 in Lyte line It actually moves pretty fast. I was #25 a few days ago
Could be the number of tickets. ONE for Friday went from 256 to about 180 in a few weeks; but since the day after tix were sold out for Saturday, TWO have moved a few dozen spots. (Like I fully recall). Sill #93. When you are up, do you get the price the seller wants and say yes or no, or just get billed, anywhere from $100 to the heavens?
Alas, I may sell my two for Friday for other reasons. If so, I will make the offer here first, but I guess would have to be someone in the NY area. Not sure how to make the exchange.
