1st listen of isbells new album, and I'm not really impressed. Which is disappointing , because I'm a big fan.
Any other opinions?
Oh damn, I love the new album! Last of My Kind, Chaos and Clothes, and Hope The High Road have quickly become favourites. This'll probably be in my top five albums for the year.
#12 in Lyte line It actually moves pretty fast. I was #25 a few days ago
Could be the number of tickets. ONE for Friday went from 256 to about 180 in a few weeks; but since the day after tix were sold out for Saturday, TWO have moved a few dozen spots. (Like I fully recall). Sill #93. When you are up, do you get the price the seller wants and say yes or no, or just get billed, anywhere from $100 to the heavens?
Alas, I may sell my two for Friday for other reasons. If so, I will make the offer here first, but I guess would have to be someone in the NY area. Not sure how to make the exchange.
You just get billed but it's the list price of the original ticket plus a fee from Lyte.
Justin Vernon confirmed on Twitter he'll be part of Grandma's Hands Band and John Prine set.
wish i didnt see this. would have been the surprise of a lifetime.
although seeing how excited he was watching his buddies in HGM at Boston Calling makes this not very surprising. he genuinely looked like he wanted to hop in and join them.

Excitement is building for Newport with the wife and I. Got my prep playlist in full effect that'll leave me with numerous conflicts that upset me but hopefully we can alleviate some of them with the after shows and other fests this summer
I'm guessing we get a MMJ/Roger Waters style set again. Surprise Bon Iver set, they stay on stage as Prine's backing band to close out the festival.
You think John Prine is going to perform with Bon Iver's band? I don't see how that would work...
Vernon confirmed on Twitter he's playing with John Prine. My post is just a theory, but I feel like it would make more sense to have a Bon Iver/Justin Vernon set than to just have him pop on stage for a song.

It's hard to know, but I don't think he would have announced that he was going to be at Newport if he had an unannounced Bon Iver set in the works. Then again, if I recall correctly, one of the reasons mentioned for why MMJ played a unannounced set in 2015 was that they played/headlined Boston Calling the same year, so maybe you're right.

I can totally see Justin sitting in on guitar and playing. Where you lose me is John Prine being backed by Bon Iver. It's two completely different types of music. I fully expect Jason Isbell, Amanda Shires, and Kacey Musgraves to be part of his band.
Long time lurker, first time poster. Does anyone have any advice for a newport noob on how to score tickets to the Deer Tick and Alone & Together(but mostly deer tick) after parties? Willing to do regrettable things...
