Did they sell out so soon last year too? I felt like we still had options when the lineup was coming out but maybe I'm thinking of 2 years ago.
No they definitely sold out just as quick last year, at least the 3 day did. I had to buy a two day pass and a friday single day because the 3 days were sold out in less than an hour.
Oh yeah, almost forgot, I got my tickets!!! Very stressful purchasing experience haha. Had to make two separate one ticket transactions.
Just curious, what does everyone do for lodging? I stayed in the motel 6 last year, which was fine, but it has to be one of the most expensive motel 6s around, anyone have any suggestions? I'm gonna check VRBO and AirBnb

We just booked a hotel in Middletown. Google says its about a 20 minute drive but the hotels were half the price. Got a Residence Inn for a little over $200 there when the similar Marriott in Newport was almost $400 a night.

Yea I reserved a room at the motel 6 for the time being, it's $150 a night and the nice thing is its right on the bus line, so you can take the bus/water taxi to the festival and either walk 1.5mi back from downtown or take a ~$7 uber.

I've stayed at the Motel 6 in Newport (by the Walmart) the last 3 years. Takes us 10-15 minutes to get to Fort Adams. The secret is they allow you to book 11 months/330 days in advance - but only on the Motel 6 company site. Plus, no payment is needed until you check in. We're paying $667.08 total for 5 nights (July 26-31) for a double-queen room, which is a steal.

We always do an AirBnb...this year it's $150 a night but it's on the water

and if anyone does need a place to stay, we've got an extra room that we aren't using in the airbnb!

Love that place! Stayed there the last three years. So nice having the Walmart, liquor store, and Five Guys so close!
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

officially in for my second year!! a friend of mine so nicely scored tickets for me yesterday!
And we stayed at that motel 6 last year and I believe we are staying there again this year. It was nice because there was actually plenty of room to stick a few extra people in it. We were able to cozy up and fit 2 air mattresses in a double queen room and was able to split the price between 6 people instead of 4!

Year 6 in a row. Bringing a slightly bigger crew this year. Hoping for some fleet foxes, I could see them headlining a day. And, before you argue that they're a pre-headliner, note that the Decemberists headlined in 2015 and Old Crow headlined friday of 2013...
Also expecting and excited for a full Dawes set. I think Newport can get away with them headlining as well.
For the legacy act, van morrison is my guess, after he ended up on Primavera.

Van Morrison I Fleet Foxes I Dawes
That's a fest I could get excited about.
Could see that! Was curious to who everyone is thinking for headliners and subheadliners?!
For me:
Headliners: Van Morrison, Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds, Fleet Foxes Subs: Dawes, Jim James, The Head and The Heart

Cat Stevens and Monsters of Folk plus another one of those superjam type things for Sunday focusing on one artist's work (Neil Young? The Band? Woody Guthrie?)
