Also in play: Kanye West, The Strokes, Vampire Weekend, Smashing Pumpkins, Beck, Bon Iver, The National, Queens of the Stone Age, Chainsmokers(?), Justice (?).
I just hope this lineup is noticeably better or worse than Bonnaroo's. If they're relatively equal for me I'm going to have such a conundrum whether I should stay home at Lolla and save money or go back to the farm since I didn't go last year, while other friends are pushing for a return too.

This would be kind of a no brained for me. Wait til May to get your Bonnaroo ticket at half the cost. Opinions and all but I think Bonnaroo is so much more fun than Lolla

If it really is that easy that'd be nice. I really enjoyed Lolla this year though, there weren't any breaks in my schedule and I really enjoyed seeing basically everyone I wanted, on top of having a nice bed to sleep in when I eventually made it home. It may not work out that well next year, but I didn't have a problem with the crowds at all like I've read about, and I even went to the Perry's stage twice.

With U2 potentially playing this, it makes me half skeptical on going to Roo. My good buddy who goes with me every year said it was a straight up no if U2-RHCP-Weeknd are indeed the headliners. Never been to a Lolla, or even Chicago before, so it would be a cool change of scenery

From this quote to headlining Lolla seems like a stretch:
Since R.E.M.’s split, Mr. Stipe has focused on brass and bronze sculpture, and his visual art will be on display this month at the gallery 39 Great Jones in the East Village, followed by a group show in Stockholm about mentors in which he is paired with the poet John Giorno. But performing as part of two tributes to David Bowie this year led to a realization: “I’m not ready to go completely into pop stardom again, as a 56-year-old,” he said, but “I want to work in music again.”

The organizer for Rockfest in Quebec said that we tried to book Foo Fighters this year, and that they were only doing 1 festival in North America, and that it was in the US. I figure it must be Lolla. What else could it be?
Does Muse also being booked make that less likely since the 2011 had both of them on it ?

I would say yes, I don't think Lolla has ever brought back 2 headliners from the same year, at least in the last decade. Foo Fighters could play Sasquatch, Gov Ball, Panorama, Outside Lands off the top of my head.

i doubt it would have any effect. Thats far enough a way that 2 out of the top 4 isn't a big deal, especially when they sell as well as Foo and muse.

Are you under 21? That's the only way I could see someone thinking that.

How does wanting to save some money mean you're under 21?
