That Friday schedule is everything that is wrong with *Lollapalooza*
Eh, I expect Bonnaroo's schedule to look just as rough. These lesser known acts probably aren't exclusive to Lolla or anything, but they could have spread some of the Fri/Sun wealth if nothing else.
I haven't followed this festival too closely over the years and only attebded 2015, but this breakdown is very week compared to year's past.

I have a ton of friends in Chicago which makes this fest fun to go to, but the actual music set up for Lolla is kinda a cluster. 100k a day, on only 115 acres, sets end at 10 pm. You need big time artists to conflict or you have massive overcrowding, and even when you have those big conflicts you can still get 50k people at a stage. You dont really see this type of conflicting acts at any other fest.

It's not the conflicts among artists that stink, it's the conflict of a lack of really good music.

A lot is personal preference for "good music", but I'd argue the good music is there on Friday, its just you can only see a limited amount of it. Realistically, you could only see full sets of 2 of these 7 artists, who I all think are some level of good: The Killers, Blink 182, Foster the People, Run the Jewels, Gramatik, Little Dragon, and Crystal Castles.

Okay so let's be real. Who wants to really see the fucking Killers and Blink in 2017? Acts like Crystal Castles are only fragment of their former selves at this point, leaving Killers/Dj Snake/Blink to close it down which is semi-laughable. If going to 4 days meant losing the quality of the acts being booked, that's when it's a problem.

A shit ton of people, thats why they are booked. Get over yourself.
Like yours? Nah I don't really want to whine every single time a lineup is released, just because it didn't have some super rare boring as shit deep house DJ that barely anybody else cares about.

I love the Killers. I think they are a great festival band. Saw them at Gov Ball last year in the rain, and when they came out to Mr. Brightside the entire crowd was so into it, it was awesome.

Literally one of my favorite acts are headlining this festival on Thursday night. You are way off.
edit: just because you don't know those acts doesn't mean no one else does. it's a big world, friend.
Actually, they booked the Killers because The Weeknd bailed and they had no choice.
Its one of the two biggest festivals in the country. They had plenty of other options (some of whom I would have easily gone with instead). They chose to go with The Killers.
@jonesjupiter and Launchpad McQuack is there a thread that you guys could keep your fighting in? Or take it to PM. Because the rest of us are tired of it.
The Weeknd vs Blink 182 would've been perfect opposing headliners, but Killers vs Blink is pretty awful for fans.
Gotta think about crowding tho. Blink would have drawn a ton of people, 40-50k for their set. Almost all of those would be staying for the Killers instead of going to Snake or whoever else would be on Perrys. But, it would probably have been Blink v Foster the People and whoever was going to see Foster would also probably rather see The Killers than Snake or RTJ. We are talking about a massive level of overcrowding at Samsung.

Sorry to disturb our ongoing 10 year discussion of Z.

I don't really buy this, but even if it's true, the idea that C3 had plenty of options and decided to pick an 00s nostalgia act to play opposite the 00s nostalgia act they already had on the books should be extra infuriating.

I think it's entertaining. It reminds me of Phyllis and Angela fighting on The Office.
I don't know some stuff early in the day all four days so I'll need to do some research, but this is my pre-aftershow announcement schedule where I'm really only hoping for Spoon/Sylvan Esso shows to erase conflicts. I may just say fuck it and sleep in Friday until Caitlyn Smith, Saturday until Warpaint, and Sunday until Noname if I'm not feeling great about the early bands.
Thur
Some combo of Kweku Collins/Golf Clap/ELohim/Honne > Jain/Temples > Gibbz > MIGOS > A Trak > some combo of Spoon/Wiz/Kaytranada > Probably Lorde, but maybe Porter depending on how many members of my group see him
Fri
??? > Caitlyn Smith > Cloud Nothings > Mura Masa > Phantogram > Andrew McMahon > RTFJ > Little Dragon > The Killers
Sat
Flint Eastwood > Sen Fermin > Warpaint > 888/Ephwurd > Glass Animals > Royal Blood > Jai Wolf/Alt J > CHANCE
Sun
??? > Wax Motif > Noname > Rag'N'Bone Man > Tove Lo > London Grammar > Sampha > Sofi Tukker > Probably Justice at this point
