I've currently got an airbnb in Oak Park for the fest. Anyone know how that train ride will be/how big of a pain getting back each night is?
I live in oak park and have taken to the green line in before. Super easy ride. Station in the city is a short walk the grant park. The train station is a complete and total clusterfuck at 10 pm when things shut down.
My plan was to hang out at a bar downtown until things calm down each night. I'm assuming, with how young the festival skews, the bars shouldn't be too packed.
Great read/interview with Liam. New shows should be very solid from what he's saying. If that solo album resembles anything like Definitely Maybe or Be Here Now that'll kick ass too.
I'm going to try my hardest to get a solo ticket for Spoon since I don't think anyone in my group will want to see them, and then we'll probably try go to Sylvan Esso too.

That's a lot of aftershows....how is it traveling from the park to these places?
I'm sort of a noob, but it depends on where you're going and if you leave early to beat the crowds or not. A lot of those places are close to a train stop so you don't necessarily need to pay for a lyft/uber/taxi which can get pretty expensive. I know House of Blues is downtown so that's pretty close, but the rest may be a short hike.
Nothing for Aragon Ballroom, they must be adding some later. Who do you think gets a show there? My guesses are DJ Snake, RTJ, and Rae Sremmurd.
The Riviera Theatre wasn't announced for any shows either, along with clubs like Smart Bar, Spy Bar, and Primary. Sound Bar could potentially announce more shows too.
Keeping all the fingers crossed for a Jamie xx aftershow somewhere
He seems to be avoiding doing afters for the xx shows aside from their festivals. Main exceptions thus far are him replacing Frank at Primavera and his show at the pre-Coach Young Turks event.
