For anyone planning to do Lolla - I will be there. I have a Hampton inn booked .5 miles from Grant Park. I am not looking for a festival buddy - I usually do this alone but if anyone is looking to get a good room for a decent amount let me know - it includes breakfast. I have a king with a sofa bed. Room is going for $350+ - I figure $100 is fair and would beat an Airbnb (even though I like Airbnb) - have never tried this but I hate the thought of the room going for just me when I am there to sleep and that's about it. You can PM me if interested

Saw Chance in Toronto last night and was a pretty bad show overall. He came out about 50 minutes late, didn't seem very into it compared to his 2 shows here last summer, and then to top it off, the set got cut a few minutes short due to a storm. I think he may have been pissed at the venue since the show got moved from last week to this week from the venue being flooded but he just did not seem into it last night. Definitely going to be going to Mac Demarco instead at Lolla.

Just got Ryan Adams tickets! Still deciding between Live and Royal Blood for their night. Since this is my first time going to Lolla (and Chicago in general), is it generally easy to get to the afterparties on time? For Ryan for example, the show starts at 11, and the fest ends at 10, but the venue is about 6 miles away. Is it pretty easy/cheap to get over there in time?

It's fine. You won't have a ton of spare time, but the show probably won't start right at 11 and even when the CTA is packed you can still make it there in a reasonable time

It looks like it's about a 20-25 minute ride on the train to the venue from Grant Park so should be fine. Might miss a bit of the opener but Ryan won't go on until midnight or so I'd imagine.

Yep, just take the red line up to Belmont to get to the Vic. As a fair warning, trains will be packed, though they run pretty quickly.
Who do you enjoy more? Lorde's new album currently receiving stellar reviews, maybe worth checking out to aid your decision.
I'd put Lorde above Muse's most recent, but their older albums were a big part of my burgeoning middle school taste, plus I've heard they're a pretty solid live act. However, Melodrama is pretty good, went over great with my crew and they'll all be at Lorde.
It might be a game time decision; I was just hoping to solicit opinions from those who may have seen them before and have opinions
