Why aren't people mocking GnR for Lolla anymore? Did i miss something? They seem so obvious.. GnR has a ton of history with Chicago. Probably the 2nd most important city of their career behind LA.

They played Soldier field last year. They also have a big Livenation event at the Bonnaroo site during Lolla weekend. I just think it wouldn't make much sense from them to do that event and also Lolla. Even if the money is right....that's kind of redundant.
Two different audiences though. Is that any worse than Jack White vs Justice? Pretty easy decision for me. I would choose Arcade Fire.
I would definitely choose AF, but that's only an easy decision for me because I just saw Justice play a 2.5 hour set in NYC and I've never seen AF. The thing is that Justice is the only electronic show that I've ever seen that was possibly better than Flying Lotus. It is one of my top 5 favorite shows that I have ever seen. I agree that the audiences are pretty different, so I could def see them conflicting each other, but I think it would be just as logical to have them opposing a hip hop headliner, especially if they're doing their live show.
Also, two questions: when does this lineup usually come out? and, I haven't kept up with this thread this year, so I was wondering exactly how sure are we on all the headliners everyone keeps guessing? because people seem to be posting a lot of the same bands
We just keep following any updates regarding musician's touring, and just kind of speculate from there. The biggest mystery will be our number one, because I'm pretty confident neither Muse or AF will be our number one act.

They could do Lolla as an exclusive 2017 festival appearance type of deal the Friday of that weekend and still do the Roo site show that Sunday.
yeah, the news leaked that gnr are doing a massive headline show at bonnaroo site...if thats true, it rules them out of Lolla
It's still weird they haven't announced it yet. I'm hoping it fell through and they're the #1
I just want a new number one. One that would be shocking for Lolla, that no one saw coming. Lolla has never really had a classic rock band as a headliner. So GNR would be shocking. I just don't think it's them if that LN event on the farm is accurate. My money is still on Jay-Z.

Well, depending on how loose your definition of classic rock is: Macca, the Cure, Black Sabbath..

Paul McCartney, RHCP, Depeche Mode and The Cure have all been around longer than GNR and were #1's at Lolla.

True. Well as long as it's not Drake or Rihanna or Mumford filling that last spot, I'm happy.

I'm not overly excited about Pearl Jam since the 2 previous times I've seen them were at fests (ACL, Roo) so I'd probably end up skipping them in favor of the north headliner. Which I sincerely hope is someone like Phoenix
PJ are always great but a festival is admittedly not the best place to see them. They're at their best when they have no curfew or time restrictions. With that said, if the only way to see PJ in Chicago in 2017 is at Lolla I'll take it.

I will stand alone on this, since someone on here got offended. I say some pretty outlandish things on here with my predictions, but I 100% believe that Frank isn't playing any fest that doesn't give him a headlining offer. Just from his fest trends this year specifically.....I'm not even considering this thought for Lolla.

Why settle for the north field at Lolla when you could be top dog on the beach in Alabama? Once you hit the summit at The Hangout, there are no new mountains to climb.
