They said "lots" of info coming this week so I wonder if that means we are going to get Daily Lineup and/or Late Nights. In the past they have had some late night acts that aren't on the fest lineup but this year I am hoping they have more late nights with acts currently on the lineup as I can see me personally having quite a few conflicts.
Tons of overlap with Sloss Fest so looking at that lineup for bands who aren't currently at Forecastle but could see playing late night sets:
Cherub (on the Belle) Francis and the Lights
Current acts that could be good late night options: Spoon Capital Cities Some combo of the Hip Hop acts Tycho Phantogram Classixx
Sturgill > LCD Cage > Weezer or RTJ > Weezer Run the Jewels > Odesza Cage > Odesza
Second stage closers: PJ Harvey Spoon Capital Cities
Bridge closers: Phantogram Griz Vince Staples
I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Phantogram / Griz / X Ambassadors closed down the second stage... I believe Spoon closed it down before (prior to Outkast) so my guess is they get a bump to the main stage. PJ Harvey seems like an afternoon main stage set.
So bridge closers: Vince Staples / Capital Cities and Tycho

Yeah you might be right on a couple of those.
A main stage of Spoon>Sturgill>LCD would be amazing. And Big Gigantic closing the second stage last year kinda points to Griz doing the same. Tycho is a great candidate for bridge closer though. I think Vince Staples is a lock for one of those spots.
The real outlier to me is PJ Harvey. She's big critically but I don't see her having a large crowd and that's really what makes me lean towards a side stage performance.
Sturgill Simpson Spoon Phantogram Tycho Real Estate Classixx Whitney
I'd put this festival against any other its size right now. It might lose to Panorama or Governors Ball but imo its better than most others.
I'm with you. This is a really nice lineup for my taste and I really like the festival site and manageable crowd size. I've had good experiences at Forecastle in the past and am looking forward to July.
I really like this lineup, but I'd have to give the slight edge to Shaky Knees. The xx, Phoenix, Sylvan Esso, Temples, Pond, etc. The latter two being pretty rare acts.
1) What time does music usually start and end each day
2) are the headliners unopposed
3) how many people usually attend each day
4) how hard is it to get a decent spot for shows
3-4 on Friday; 12-1 on Sat. and Sun. Sometimes a set under the highway can blend for 20 min or so, but usually yes, unopposed (unless that changed in the last few years) 20-25k ballpark attendance - depends on schedule/headliner Not hard. Main stage field is usually wide open for dancing in the back.......

Seriously considering this one now. PJ Harvey fans, where does a newbie begin?
To Bring You My Love is my favorite, but you can't go wrong with any of them. Depends on what you like, because she's changed quite a bit over the years.
I was procrastinating and made a fake schedule. I know Tycho is tentatively aimed at Sunday, but I really wanted both them and Vince Staples to be under bridge closers.
Also I did the stages in descending order on accident. Sue me.

Nice job, I started to attempt this but decided it was too difficult to put together something realistic without knowing more day information.
I think the worst thing for me is going to be Pre-HL stage closer conflicts. PJ Harvey v Tycho Modern Baseball v Griz Vince Staples v Phantogram
All 6 acts are ones I'd like to see. Saturday looks great I could stay at the main stage for Charles Bradley > Spoon > RtJ that would be fantastic. Otherwise you spread out the acts I'd like to see pretty well. I am personally hoping someone like X Ambassadors closes a stage Pre-HL so I can skip them and go to the other stage which is bound to be someone I want to see but on lineup placement.
I feel like FC almost always lists headliners in order of nights. Which leaves us- LCD Fri, Weezer- Sat and Odesza/Sturgill sharing sunday.
At least this was true in 14 and 16 and I believe 15 but I didn't go that year.
Wasn't Death Cab For Cutie listed above Ryan Adams last year.
I could see Sturgill getting the headliner spot over Odesza the same as Ryan did over DC.
Sturgill very well might be the biggest draw of this festival, and he's in bold indicating he's a headliner.
I love the additions, this line up will exceed what I'm able to see for the weekend.
Conflicts are sure to happen.
Edit: I went back and looked and I was wrong, Ryan was billed ahead of DC. I'm sill thinking Sturgill over Odesza.
Don't overestimate Odesza. Their crowds at Lolla and Roo in 15 were massive. Plus Odesza benefits from night time and Sturgill does not (production wise). Both crowds will be healthy. Regardless a Sturgill electric hoe down and Odesza dance party is a strong way to finish a festival.

It's going to be interesting to see what this year does for Sturgill. The Grammy nomination and performance should give him a major audience boost, even above what that great SNL slot did. If the very unlikely happens and Beyonce and Adele split the Album of the Year vote enough to sneak it to him, a set of great shows at Forecastle and Sloss could make him an unlikely next headliner or pre-headliner at one of the majors in 2018.
