Because of the dates I know that Sturgill Simpson will be in MD Fri and Boston Saturday. He doesn't have a tour date again until Tuesday in Detroit so he could certainly play on Sunday the 17th in NY.
Since no one else responded about this, did you miss that he's playing NYC that Thursday?

Green Day has two days open between 9/13 and 9/16 though I don't know how complicated it would be to fly to NYC the next day after the Rose Bowl date with all their shit.
I personally would love Green Day as a headliner. Not sure on how realistic it is though.
It's just so odd they don't have a NYC date on this summer tour yet are hitting every other major market.
It was great and they put on an excellent show. I just don't see why they would book PJ Harvey.
Since The Meadows is basically the new Made in America, why even bother booking anything other than rap, pop, and EDM.
There's a difference between being Pitchfork/FYF and being MIA. I don't think Founders wants to back themselves into that corner MIA - especially going to 3 days. They have to fill this lineup bill without using any of their Gov Ball bookings. There aren't enough acts to be that genre specific. Better to keep it open and try to book the biggest draws that are available, regardless of the genre.

why do you think they're not going to book Gov Ball acts?

They booked kanye twice because he didnt play the first time. They booked chance twice because he exploded in popularity. They are exceptions not the rule.

Chance went from third at the Meadows to second at governors ball, three months later.
Well clearly you know their booking strategies better than I do.
This things going to be full of gov ball repeats, guys! Heard it from an insider.
you're getting really defensive.
Well I gave you an explanation on the two most recent examples of your statement; and told you they were exceptions. You chose not to accept it. So now I am just mocking you.
Do you think there will be 0% overlap between this and Gov Ball?
As far as I am aware.
That surprises and bothers me, coinciding how hip hop centric GB is this year and MF was last year. I'm not the biggest hip hop fan, but GB has pretty much what I do like. If MF stays hop hop heavy, I'm worried it's going to be more of the stuff I don't like (I.e. trap)
Big fan of that Lolla lineup. Hopefully there's some overlap with this.
I'm crossing my fingers that they get Liam Gallagher.
Speaking of acts that will draw small crowds - probably at every fest he plays, to be fair. A Liam show at somewhere like Webster would be infinitely better.
