Fuck it. Same shit, different year.
And yes, this is starting a month early, because we've burned through 10 pages in 36 hours.
Updates will be posted:
1. for every ten pages minimum in the main headliner thread or 72 hours have passed 2. Between 5 PM CT and 12 AM CT 3. If the 72 hour time limit comes outside of that time, at 7 PM CT before the 72 hours passes (ex: if 72 hours comes at 12:15 AM Tuesday, the update will be 7 PM Monday) 4. Not more than one per day
There is a single exception to these rules: SPECIAL (or EXTRA) EDITIONS. If I deem something particularly important or a abnormal topic dominates a significant number of pages, it gets its own episode (for example: the mass murder BS from last year).
Things that won't be tolerated: - Racist shiz - Politics - Discussing things that have their own thread (expect the headliners) - Daft Punk hologram jokes - Dick pics - Using 'z' in the spelling of vibes without it being ironic - People without avatars telling me what to do - Anyone commenting in this thread with 420 in their username
There may or may not be a best/worst post of the day.

I'll do it when I feel like it....after you guys hit ten pages.
The ten pages rule is there so that I have something to work with for every recap. I'm not gonna do a daily recap if you guys only get through two pages in a day.

Okay, so that's what I was asking. Do you consider it an album in its own right, and should you rank it? Obviously you guys do, I wasn't aware of the quote from the band so I guess they do. Glad we answered that question with a civilized conversation on the topic.
This is fun. This is a fun place.

holy crap broham11 's mock plus schedule. that must have taken a ton of time, and at a glance is remarkably realistic. this is why this thread exists, i totally missed that.

There really was no other choice for MOTD.
I might do a "Best Of" post at the end and that'll certainly be on it.

I think I get it now. There is actually a valid reason Bonnaroo's lineups have slowly gotten less exciting and more poorly curated over time, and it's not an overly saturated festival market, or festival organizers lazily riding the wave of their past success. Rather, Bonnaroo is trying to send us a very specific message that consciousness is a disease, and enjoyment of art and music is the clearest symptom of that disease.
Evolution has no foresight. Complex machinery develops its own agendas. Brains—cheat. Feedback loops evolve to promote stable heartbeats and then stumble upon the temptation of rhythm and music. The rush evoked by fractal imagery, the algorithms used for habitat selection, metastasize into art. Thrills that once had to be earned in increments of fitness can now be had from pointless introspection. Aesthetics rise unbidden from a trillion dopamine receptors, and the system moves beyond modeling the organism. It begins to model the very process of modeling. It consumes evermore computational resources, bogs itself down with endless recursion and irrelevant simulations. Like the parasitic DNA that accretes in every natural genome, it persists and proliferates and produces nothing but itself. Metaprocesses bloom like cancer, and awaken, and call themselves I.
So it turns out Bonnaroo was right the whole time! Coachella don't have shit on us girls and boys.
God, if we got anything close to that last mock I'd be ecstatic. But it's making me realize how low my expectations are for Roo next year. It's a sad day.
