Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Is that a RIP the lineup is garbage or RIP Livenation is scrapping the festival or an RIP the festival isn't gonna be the same?
It's like having a favorite restaurant. You see the familiar sign out front and you walk in. First you notice the art on the wall has changed. Then the waiter is different and hands you a new menu. Turns out they have a new chef too. Then you look around and notice all the empty tables.
C3 knows how to book and run some of the biggest Festivals around. They are now in charge. Not Superfly & not AC entertainment. The Bonnaroo name will live on but will it be the Festival we hold so near & dear? My heart says no.
Then you look around and notice all the empty tables.
This clearly started happening last year though. And with your analogy, those restaurants usually end up closing. This is what makes me so nervous moving forward. I'm trying to decide if my expectations are low for this year, or high because they know they need to rebuild now or lose the fest's fanbase forever. I really don't know where I am with.
Where should I be, infinitypass!? Should I keep the bar low so I'm not disappointed? This board needs some hope that next year isn't going to suck!!!
Oh, and is Street Team still going to be a thing or no?

I'm not so sure about that one. Live Nation bought C3. Just like Live Nation bought Governors Ball and Founders, but that doesnt mean Governors Ball people are now running Bonnaroo. Just like AC Entertainment is not now running Voodoo Festival.

This is the most depressing thing I've read in a long time.

I'd be shocked if LN gives out freebies in a larger quantity like that to any of their festivals.
I know. That's what I'm worried about. Bc honestly, it'd take a lot to to get me to pay the $400 price tag if it's a line up like last year. But Roo is my only chance to see most people from the board, so I really want to go.

Infinity pass is wrong on this. AC is not going away. They are becoming a subdivision of LiveNation; just like Founders, C3, the sasquatch crew, the folks at HARD, ect. They are an imprint of a bigger company (like how Goldenvoice is Tollets crew that works under the larger AEG umbrella; or how Interscope records is a subdivision of Universal Music Group, ect).
The same folks are running the show. They just are not financially responsible anymore.

I didn't say AC was going away. AC is now LN. Superfly is not LN. C3 is LN. C3 > AC. Bonnaroo = C3 and Superfly gave up the talent buying.

AC, C3, Founders, HARD, ect are all sub imprints for LiveNation. AC is the Knoxville based brand. C3 is the Austin based brand. HARD in Cali. Founders in NYC. Sasquatch peeps up in WA.
This is the first I am hearing about C3 specifically having any involvement in Bonnaroo at all. We will see though, very possible that I just didnt hear about it.
What's the division of labor between AC and Superfly for producing Bonnaroo--anyone have insight on that? I had thought Superfly did more than talent buying (e.g., also producing videos, maybe communications and branding too?), but I'm not sure. Interesting to hear that Superfly may be getting boxed out. Makes me wonder how that possible change, in and of itself, could alter Bonnaroo.

And where did you see that Superfly gave up the talent buying and brought C3 into the Bonnaroo bubble?

The sad thing is, based on the amount of correct information you've given over the years, you're probably involved with Superfly or ACe. In any case, I hope you're wrong, but chances are you're not.
You guys are way too negative about this whole thing, I realize attendance was down last year, but the lineup was still insane. Seeing Pearl Jam, Tame Impala, Dead and Co, Ween, Father John Misty, it cant get much better than that. I don't understand where all of the hate for the lineup last year is coming from, there were plenty of great shows playing the same time as Halsey, Macklemore, Chainsmokers, etc
11/2/19: Tool 5/17/19: Blues Traveler 5/9/19: Tool 11/10/18: Tenacious D 9/20/18: White Denim 7/23/18: Radiohead 6/4/18: Jack White 5/20/18: Tool 5/18/18: A Perfect Circle 5/18/18: Alice in Chains 5/6/18: Blind Melon

Oh.
Yep, despite the 35,000 missing attendees' opinion, you can rest assured that last years lineup was "still insane." You wouldn't doubt iSmarf, would you?

Before you get railed into the ground by someone: The point isn't the quality of what DID make it to the farm; it's about the lack of quality that still dominated the first 3 rows. It's about Kalliope killing what LN was and could be. It's certainly about a trend of trying to attract a young artist audience with pop artists over quality artists (which seemed to backfire last year). The experience of bonnaroo is a mixture of music and surroundings, and last years low attendance also caused a cut back in obviously needed materials (I.E. toilets and staff/volunteers). So when they can't generate a lineup that pulls a real audience; it's a long standing issue; because they are digging their brand into the ground which makes it perpetually more difficult.

Hi Ashley, How's it going? Come into any new money lately?
