Also, are the people making these just saying fuggit when it comes to making the billing logical, or image quality? It's like a damn amateur hour in here.

Not necessarily. Beck headlined back in 2014 and pitchfork had given "Morning Phase" a not so great review.
Eh, but Beck is a lot bigger. I don't think this completely eliminates Japandroids or anything, but Pitchfork has certainly booked many acts in the past few years who now have gotten middling reviews that it's harder to imagine them booking now (Sleigh Bells, Autre Ne Veut, Factory Floor, Wild Beasts, etc.)
The last FJM tour sold really well and his billing at Coachella is almost exactly where Pitchfork headliners are usually at (including Sufjan and Beach House last year). It would be difficult to see him subbing, although it's also difficult to believe how big he's gotten.
This festival can do what it wants and it does. If FKA Twigs can headline and Broken Social Scene can subheadline fucking Pitchfork, then Run The Jewels could headline and Father John Misty could subheadline. Why do people keep acting like just because bands are certain slots on other lineups that they're guaranteed to be anywhere on this lineup?
edit. FJM could also totally headline, but's that's sort of my whole point. He could, but he certainly isn't a lock for headlining, that's some blind confidence.

Need to see this lineup and hope it's not too good because my FOMO for this one is high, have to miss out due to work. I'll be watching the livestream yet again. This was going to be my year to finally go to this fest.

so after the dumpster fire that is the Firefly lineup I need this lineup to drop so bad. Would love to see them grab LCD and PJ along with Forecastle since they're the same weekend this year. Also would love to see Sigur Ros headline one night.
