Agree with all the above and wont speculate further. The main concern is with those trying to recover and how we can learn and protect future festival and concert goers from these tragic incidents.
I'm currently scheduled to go to Vegas with the wife Friday and she's not exactly happy about all this. We were gonna see Incubus Saturday night and Cirque De Solei Sunday night. Some fuckin people man.
shit is crazy and so are those gun laws out there. I will be in Vegas in 5 weeks so its scary as hell to see this. Seeing the count is up to nearly 60 gone and 500+ injured along with a desperate need for more blood donors
It just sucks cus there's only so much u can do about it. Like this one in particular there was literally no way of stopping that ahead of time unless someone had a beat on this dude previously. He lived in Vegas, stayed in a room, had no affiliation with the festival at all. It's not like they check your bags when u walk into a hotel. Just sucks for people like us on this board who go to all of these different shows year round. They seem to be the #1 target for these kind of acts.

Given the divide in the country and how easy it is to hurt people, I'm afraid it is going to get worse and not better. I've always been concerned about some group of violent haters attacking the Hangout festival. With all those people packed on the beach...dang.

Petty was an all-time favorite of mine. Top 10 I'm sure, or close to it. Thankfully I saw him in 2003 and twice in 2013. Was really hoping to see him again sometime. This one hurts.

First I'd heard of that. I'm very glad to have seen him at Hangout and then listened to him outside at Jazz Fest this year.

Yeah. Because it's too early to talk about fucking assault weapons and how they kill people. It's always too soon to talk about anything but prayer and moments of silence until we collectively forget about these tragedies. And then assholes on the far-right start with their gun conspiracy bullshit that it's all a ploy. I'll say this - if I was a parent who lost a kindergartner at Sandy Hook and there were assholes like Alex Jones denying that shit on tv and preaching to mindless conspiratorial believing idiots, there would be some mfn hell to pay. I know he had to "retract" some of it because of the lawsuit, but this is the kind of crap that infects our otherwise rational thought.
Thanks solidrock. Shared the second video with my friends at MTSU Songwriters program. Loved what he said about Head and the Heart and Cage the Elephant. I also appreciate how many times he said "love". People need to be less afraid to tell someone they love them. Power in that word. And as for rock and roll...he/Heartbreakers were the best in my book. I guess those Camels (among other things) finally shot you down Tom. Rest in Peace.
RTJ opening for Lorde on her tour in the spring. I'd enjoy that pair on the beach come May considering we know we're getting hit with a ton of rap/hip-hop and pop.

RTJ is one of my favorite groups outnin music especially hip hop. Love that they’ll play with anyone tho. I remember while back they opened for Jack White at Madison Square Garden that would’ve been a super random but awesome show to have been at!

It's a step in the right direction. I don't know if I'm going to see them at ACL because they play here next Friday, and I have a ticket for that show. Also, I've seen them 4 or 5 times already (and another 6 or 7 streamed) whereas I've only seen badbadnotgood live once with Ghostface Killah (4 or 5 streams).
I don't really care about Lorde. She's smart and talented. But it really doesn't do much for me.

agreed. if she's there no biggie. just be one less conflict for a tent show. man that Buku Set of Badbadnotgood w/ Ghost was my jam! that year of buku was so lit. we planned to come back but the lineups since then just aren't doing it for me.
if we do get RTJ where do you think we can expect them to be billed? They were 18th last time in between Big Grams and Foals (what a line) and i know they played surf i think early afternoon like 2 or 3? They def crack the top 10 anywhere at this point i think so either tent co-HL or pre-HL on the main maybe

If she's playing here, it will probably be at Jazz Fest. She's open all the weekend days except the day she plays in Houston.

lets hope not.. good news is that probably wont happen. shes booked dates on Friday the 18th of Hangout in CA then another on the 22nd. this is still hangout after all not i heart radio vegas. i know we've swang poppy but thats like a fully man.

I don't know about fully. Her crowd is more the Paramore crowd than the Taylor Swift crowd (my Paramore loving GF will undoubtedly bring me to one of these shows). But yeah, Jazz Fest makes more sense.
