has there been anyone in recent memory with only one album cracking the top 2 lines? I know Haim and Leon Bridges got high spots after debuting but i cant see how this dude is all of the sudden playing 4-6 range even if his popularity is growing. fuck, i hate millennials.
edit: looking now and see that he is 11th at voodoo so fuck me he might be in that 4-6 range by next year. though hes not billed above anyone whod be top 15 at hangout with the exception of Prophets of Rage
ne215, saw Prophets of Rage at 2017 Louder Than Life in Louisville. They closed the fest. Was front row & had to survive a completely-wilder-than-I-would-have-thought Rise Against set. The crowd surfers were like a conveyer belt all thru the set & coming right over me. Have seen Korn sets where there wasn't as much crowd surfing. Wonderful experience, though (Prophets of Rage)! The 2 lead singers work well together. Heard the Cypress Hill covers I've always wanted to hear :-) Zach De LaRocha can twist those strings too! I think they would go fine on the beach. Play before the headliner on Main Stage or close Surf/Chevy Stage. Their politics might make them 'unpalatable' for Baldwin County, tho...
Zack is the former Rage lead singer. Tom Morello is the guitarist for Rage/Prophets. How did you like LTL? We almost went again this year. Enjoyed it in 2015.
Shameless confession, I went to high school with one of the girls from Party Down south, I'm guessing it's an attempt at trying to get some of that shows success.
Saw Arcade Fire last night at the United Center. If we're being realistic about what headliners Hangout could realistically get, they may be at the top of the list. God damn those guys are good.

So did my first Voodoo Fest and had a blast! I know I have said didn’t get the appeal of LCD Soundsystem but will have to say they were pretty awesome live! Also prophets of Rage was too great play Kendrick as well! Brand New into Foo Fighters was perfect. And Sunday saw Cold War Kids, Amine, the Head and the Heart, Miguel, and The Killers which ended up being my favorite day of live music!

We had a pretty similar Sunday but Sunday’s lineup wasn’t made with me in mind. I saw some good stuff, but I felt like Saturday was the best day overall and Friday night was the best nightly run with LCD, Prophets and Kendrick. I always tell y’all that Voodoo is underrated on the festival circuit and particularly the city festival circuit. It’s not that I’m biased because I live here. It’s the food, crowd, party mentality side of things that make it more chill than most people would expect.
Better than last Hangout. I'd take four outta six if the undercard had the typical Hangout alternative, folk, rock, and blues.
Edit: Nathaniel Ratliff way over due. I would think HOMF could sign an Earth, Wind, and Fire, Cheap Trick, Sheryl Crow, on the third line. TTB would fill that blues spot. Sturgill is rocking out. Calling his show country is misleading as heck. Then there is Lukas Nelson, Greensky Bluegrass, Amanda Shires, and a lot of new folk-Americana acts that would fit after first two lines. I can't make Sweetwater but, sure would like to see TTB and Sturgill crossover to Hangout.

We have potentially 2-4 Zaj mock's to go before the real thign drops. Having seen the Killers in <200 person club in Austin, I can skip them for 5 more years. Kygo could be fun with the tropical vibes. Strong undercard would win me over with this less than stellar top 6.

I’m glad you had a good time.
Glad y’all had a great time too man I appreciate it! And I liked all the days but I’m more easy alternative rock and hip hop so and with the Killers being my favorite band and Kendrick in my top 3 of hip hop and foos just to me are rock legends in our own time to me was a great top 3. And agreed this fest is highly underrated man. I live in Mobile so my fest love has grown even more in the south area now. Glad to have another fest to enjoy yearly now like hangout.
I'm headed to Madison, WI for an Umphrey's run this weekend. Lunar Ticks has an after-show set Friday night, but Saturday is still open. Anybody familiar with the area? It's been a long, painful stretch for me, personally, it'll be nice to get away and just be. Hoping to revive the inforoo pre-party in '18!
listening to Lorde for the first time, i only know that 'Royals' song but this all the sounds the same. Im on the 4th song of the first album and its pretty boring but im gonna power through a little more.

Yeah, I don't find her shows to be exciting at all. I respect the message and delivery, but the music gets kind of plain.

Off the first album Glory and Gore, Team, Buzzcut Season, and Tennis Court are probably my favorite tracks. It's pop but it's got a different vibe to it. She puts everything she has into her live performances as well. The beats have a lot more oomph to them live in person too. When I first heard her I was like okay this is fine but then after seeing her live, especially at such a young age, I got more respect for her.

lmao i'd take ellie all day over Lorde but i think we'll fall more in the CHVRCHES camp this year. never know YYY could make a return on SUNDAY, SUNDAY, SUNDAY!
hold up i just got an email from Live Nation that N.E.R.D. released a new song???????!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i heard the rumors of a reunion but thats about as far as it went to me. just peeped it, its aight, def a bit of a different sound but its not awful, cant say its good though on the first listen.

See I fall in the cmack camp where if we're gonna have a female pop act in the top 6, I'd rather Lorde than any of the other options like Ellie, Halsey, or Lana. Sia would be better than Lorde though.

I could do without all of them. Kehlani wasn't bad the other day, so I think she'd be tolerable if Baldwin County allows that kind of heathen to be on their soil.
I'm looking at "Ranker" for female singers. In the top 28, I like 3 - Alicia Keys, Florence Welch and Bjork. I guess I don't hate on Adele or Beyoncé, but I don't really need or want to see them.
