How many bands are they short? Whoever has done the additions the last two years has actually picked some good stuff...can't be the same mind behind the initial lineup.
Oh you're right. I guess I meant no formal additions, just filler when the schedule dropped.
Zoogma would have been an easy Top 5, not filler. But still. Solidrock is scraping here dying for Hangout’s lineup release to have been a prank. I agree with him, but it jumped the shark by 16 when I could no longer bend backwards far enough to get under the low bar.
I really wonder if colleged age kids look at this lineup and think its amazing and cant wait.
This festival is now catered to this crowd. More of my peers go to this festival than others. People that refuse to camp at a festival go to this to get a similar experience. Gulf shores was one of the more popular spring break destination for schools in the southeast following the panama city collapse. Oldrow covered hangout last year which inspired more frat like people to go. The dates are around the same time that most colleges' spring semesters are ending. I predict this year a lot of 18 year olds taking molly for the first time this year. Personally I like the line up but avoid this fest due to the crowd/location and security, just my opinion though.
It was JUICY JAY with the Odesza and Anderson.Paak call out of like 30 bands.
I went thru all 61 and came up with 29 I'm interested in seeing. Heavy on the alternative for sure. Killers the only headliner I want to see. The two A girls, Alex and Alice will get a look/listen. Anderson East is the only songwriter so I will catch him, Bahamas and Banners sounded ok for beach music, Cold War Kids, Foster the People, Grouplove, and Zedd are fun to watch and listen to. I enjoyed Hippo Campus at Roo this year. Manchester Ochestra on my list as is Mansionair. Nothing but Thieves will be this year's Franz. I like Slightly Stoopid, Son Little, and Sunflower Bean. Tank and the Tangas, Tush Sultana, and The Green will provide a little soul and reggae. The Glorius Sons, Ron Gallo, Welshly Arms, and the Struts rock. I'll catch St Vincent. IDK...about par for the GV course but, I love my beach vacation and there is just enough music here to keep me going in May.
The pre-party last year was baaad but the Inforoo pre-party rocked. I plan to make it Inforoo Pre-Party II. I think these were 2017 adds. Strand of Oaks, The Worn Flints, Susto, Mutemath, Migos, Lawrence, Jimmy Lumpkin and the Revival, Joshua James, and the pre-party.

I made a clashfinder, but it's all guessing tbh.. It seems so empty but whatever

Us anyone else considering Shaky Knees in lieu of Hangout?
I'm going to go next year, if at all possible (parents healthy enough to be left for a few days). It's alot closer to me than Hangout is. Went to 2016 one & had a blast. Best lineup I had that year (except maybe for Lolla, but you can't really compare SK to Lolla).
the currect PTM set is glorious. a little metallica some Pantera covers. good stuff. def stole the weekend for me at ACL this year. glad i waited for their meet and greet/signing.
Should have been at their 0130 set at Roo! Wow, it was trippy! Glad they did what the do at ACL!
Saw them at Louder Than Life. The lead singer is 17 and one of the guitarists can't be anymore than 19. Did enjoy their set.
I checked them out recently because I saw Sarge raving. Not for me right now. Lot's of potential, but...I mean the lead singer sounds like and literally mimics Robert Plant...they're just kids so if they can find a little more originality...they already seem to be blowing up quick though so what do I know.
Think he bought some of Robert's old jeans at a yard sale he must have had!
OK..after checking out a video of all 60 of these performers, I came up with 34 I want to see. Killers, The Struts, Zedd, Nothing But Thieves, Odesza, Manchester Orchestra, Cold War Kids, Slightly Stoopid, The Glorius Sons, Ron Gallo, Hippo Campus and Anderson East. Then there are the others If the fit in the schedule like Bahamas, Banners, Foster the People, Grouplove, Alice Merton, Mansionair, Mikky Ekko, Oh Wonder, Portugal the Man, Pussy Riot, R.Lum.R, Skip Marley, Son Little, Sunflower Bean, St Vincent, Tash Sutana, Tank and the Bangas, Sza, The Green, and Welshley Arms. I dont think Chainsmokers or Kendrick are going to be on my "must see" list. Ditto a lot of the EDM. But, 32 out of 60 is a pretty good list and actually better than going into 2017 Hangout. Mumford > Killers but, that is the hand that has been dealt.
Tank and the Bangas is a great show. Caught them at Roo. One of the most fun sets I saw there.

i bet it was great but this 2018 hangout sundown set on the surf stage may top that sir.

Have ya'll checked out Noname on this lineup?...preferable to Tank to me.
I dont remember if it was JUICY JAY or Zaitch, but someone put out a pretty long and detailed mock. I copied it down. The only two out of like thirty picks were Anderson.paak and Odesza. I guess stick to betting on football.
This feels like an unnecessary cheap shot. You know none of us have any inside knowledge. Shall we count the acts you mocked?

I was actually complementing them on their picks in our football moment last week. Nobody does well with Hangout mocks. The first few Hangouts I went 30% for the vacation and 70% for the music. Since 2014, that flipped. Now it is 40% vacation, 40% hanging out with Inforoo friends, and 20% music. I'm hoping a few of you show up. If it looks really bleak by condo cancellation fee time, I may bail. I hate the hassle of selling/buying tickets even if they are cheap alumni. As I said earlier, there are enough bands I would watch and listen to that I would like to vacation and enjoy those shows. $200 for 29 bands is a good deal for me. Ditto having the condo next door to the festival for a week. Maybe thebrewdude will come over and drink with me...got plenty of room for him and bride to crash.
Unbelievable to have such an amazing venue, time of the year, started getting the Inforoo folks together, and we get a promoter that is like fifteen years old. Go figure.

I'll be there, Bob. Can't miss an opportunity to get the band back together!
