If SK would drop their lineup, this would be so much easier.
There's no rush. SK will drop during the Holidays and both are still a long way off. At least this year there is a gap between the two so it's not as much of a grind to do both. It is tough after hitting the beach on the reg for 7yrs to not have it on the calendar.

Sad...music festivals are little things...if you don't like this one, go to another one. After spending day after day with a parent you love with Alzheimers, suffered a stroke and can't speak, is living in a nursing home, has to be fed, you know they just want to die. Well, hope you get the point.

There were 65 bands in the November 2016 roll out of the 2017 lineup. I counted 61 bands this year. I can't find the date they did the first adds last year; Susto, Jimmy Lumpkin, Worn Flints, and others but, they were some of my favorite performers so hope we get some more like those this year. I think the pre-party came out early April and they shipped wristbands around the 17th of April.

Understand what you're saying, Bob. If Hangout brings you joy, in the current form of the fest, go have a blast! I'm not gonna judge people on where they spend their hard-earned money (except in extreme circumstances, of course)

That should tell you enough about how much I dislike this lineup. I am going to take the $2,000 that I typically spend on this fest and channel into upgrades for our normal family summer vacation. I will try to swing down there for the Inforoo pre-party on Thursday night for the jam session. I may need a couch to crash on.

new Nothing But Thieves and Greta Van Fleet albums are terrific. Hope I can catch them elsewhere
I'll be legit upset if Roo doesn't get at least GVF. Here's my concern, every year we rip the lineup apart and rightfully so. But then as other shit lineups come out, Hangout ends up having some acts I really want to see that don't end up at the other fests like I suspect. Greta Van Fleet, Nothing but Thieves, Anderson Paak, St Vincent. All 4 of those I'm really hoping to see this year. Now do those 4 and Kendrick make this fest worth it? Nah not really but it'll suck if none of them are at Roo.
i feel the same way. im prob seeing St Vincent in a few months but i have been dying to see Paak and cant recall him coming through here like ever. GVF and NTB seem primed to hit a lot of fests and be lower card standouts.
what annoys me the most about this lineup is the repeats and where they are booked and how recently they played.
Killers- HL in 2014 (new album but still a lazy booking) Cocksmokers- Closed tent against HL in 2016 Portugal The Man- this is their 4th year playing i think, maybe 3rd Zedd- Top 12 in 2014 Cold War Kids- Played in 2015 in a similar spot Grouplove- Playing for the 3rd in 4 years time counting the pre party Odeza- Played in 2015 Foster the peeps- both 7th in 2015
*Kendrick and Halsey played once before but they make sense now. St. Vincent, Bleachers, The Struts, Slightly Stoopid are also repeats.

yes i agree, plus seeing them on the beach is always better venue then any other fest they could be booked at.
then you have PTM, pussy riot, tash sultana, cold war kids, galantis, ron gallo,manchester orch, slightly stoopid. Fosters new live show is differnt and fun (felt more upbeat then last time i saw them). AND AWOL is worth it alone jest to get drunk AF all weekedn and yell, "SAIL!"
and holy hell the EDM is strong as well w/ Chainsmokers, Zedd, Galantis, Odesza, Getter, Whethan, San Holo, Goldfish. not a huge chainsmoker fan but meh.

i swore she did but not seeing her on a past lineup now. maybe an addition? regardless, point stands. PtM is great but i saw them on this tour already and last time i was at hangout (no way they top that set). the biggest reason i cant justify going is the the lack of acts i never seen at this fest alone

I think that’s my main complaint is it’s just sooo many repeats and after just doing voodoo fest there wasn’t a lot to make me as excited but if i hadn’t done voodoo the killers and Kendrick lamar anytime would make me excited. With that being said i do still this lineup looks better then past 2 other then it’s lazy as hell tbh.
