then you have PTM, pussy riot, tash sultana, cold war kids, galantis, ron gallo,manchester orch, slightly stoopid. Fosters new live show is differnt and fun (felt more upbeat then last time i saw them). AND AWOL is worth it alone jest to get drunk AF all weekedn and yell, "SAIL!"
and holy hell the EDM is strong as well w/ Chainsmokers, Zedd, Galantis, Odesza, Getter, Whethan, San Holo, Goldfish. not a huge chainsmoker fan but meh.

That’s bad as shit too. They did EDM right 2015 and back. Every year had shit I didn’t want to see but all of Hangout 2015/14/13/12 had multiple pretty great EDM acts. It’s lazy as everyone has been saying as was their 2016 EDM lineup.
I'm good with a change from Chainsmokers as headliner. I'm not a fan of EDM or rap so that doesn't bother me either way. I know going in I'm not going to like half the performers. I give them all a listen, but usually the language and sound effects just not for me. I have fingers crossed for some alt-folk like BOH and Head&Heart last year. Also hoping for some shredding fender blues. I'm in for the Robert Plant sound alike.

You weren’t referring to either Nickleback, possibly the bottom 1 band there is or Imagine Dragons as awesome, right? Dragons aren’t as terrible as so many people say, but they aren’t in the same universe as awesome. Kendrick, like rap or not, is the class of this lineup.

You didn’t hear me or many on this thread promoting The Weeknd. In fact the title of that thread was The Weaknd. You still won’t get Sigur Ros but they are one of the best musical talents Hangout ever booked. It’s not a question of taste. It’s a question of recognizing talent. Speaking of which, I love TTB as well and see them when I can. And I don’t have a problem with 80% of what you want for Hangout. That’s one of the reasons I go to Jazz Fest because many of those acts will be there. Y’all hang on to Hangout because of past good times and friends. And I’d come have a drink with any of y’all. But 90% of the formerly active posters have bailed over time for a reason. It began with Jabco and Longinus bailing out after 2014. Blotter, me and others bailed after 2015. Others left after 16, and now just about everyone is bailing after 17 as Hangout has become a low bar pop fest.
You being a good guy with some decent tastes ought to get with Shaul or one of the power brokers down there to get a classic rock, blues and jam fest. I’d go.

Larold [tm] overlaid 2 of their songs more than 10 years ago and they were exactly the same. I think people feel like their themes are incredibly juvenile. Also they are sort of douchey. When you make Corey Taylor the voice of reason, you are a shithead. Then there is the research
Ok...if you want "not played before or new to Hangout" like Nate Ratliffe, ZZ Ward, Greensky Bluegrass, and Earth Wind and Fire or equal and I could love that too.
Tank and the Bangas is a great show. Caught them at Roo. One of the most fun sets I saw there.
Have ya'll checked out Noname on this lineup?...preferable to Tank to me.
I saw Noname at Loufest. Young black lady. Raps. She was on the smallest of the stages, in daytime. Not best timeslot for her act. Tank & the Bangas was on in daytime on This or That Tent (forget). There's about 8 of them up there, so there's alot of noise coming out of that band. Excellent noise, IMO. For me, Noname was not my cup of tea. Tank & the Bangas is a great show, IMO.
The Shins were at the Ryman in Nashville and I missed them. Pissed. I went up to see my son last night and could have gone the night before. Hope it was a good show.
One more piece to the Hangout Divorce was to unsubscribe to their emails today. heh. I chose "Other" for the reason and filled in that 12/13/14/15 were the apex and now it's just for children, and even mine don't want to go anymore. Used to be good lineups that are now lame. They can kiss my ass.
