Bob i was really holding out hope for Nate Ratliff as well. He left been pretty high on my list to see and heplayed my home town in mobile at the soul kitchen...but the last night of voodoo fest while i was in Nola. I’m still mad on that one haha. Also yeah Esteban i have a few close friends trying to get me to still go we’re in that 26 year old age range. They and myself have always enjoyed the fest for it being fun beach and do like the music for the most part. But i did tell them i will be looking into other options regardless since gulf shores is pretty much our local beach so the location doesn’t really sell it to me i need a little change in lineups.

Makes sense though you being that close, it's probably worth stopping in if you can get discounted tickets at some point. There are a few acts each day I'd see if I didn't have to travel.
My oldest is a '91 kid, then I have one from '92 and one from '96. They literally go to everything from Tipper & Friends to Bonnaroo to all the local fests and then ACL/Waka/Griz Red Rocks and shit. Me and my oldest went the 4 years together (12-15). My other two came with us 13-15. It was a festival all of us love because we all love the beaches down there and in NWFL. But no one wants to go to Hangout anymore mostly on the music, but my middle kid hates bros and meatheads. haha
In my mind, Hangout just decided they don't want to challenge the listeners anymore and will just provide them with a few acts that have cross appeal and lots of pop. If you're a teenage girl, you're probably going to like it. If you don't mind pop (category Krisp falls into), then it's all good. It's just too sanitary for me.

True I’m one of the 91 kids but imagine my parents being a lot like you with music with being they have a wide variety of music and were always taking me and my brother and sister to concerts since we were kids. But i agree it’s jusf like they didn’t try it’s so hard to get excited about but there’s enough that i still like that as close as it is it’s easy to go to and not spend much going to. Main thing is i wanna try and some new fests while traveling to some new areas so that’s why i might just leave Hangout alone to spend on that. I do know that after this past year i will easily be doing vip at life is Beautiful Fest again very underrated to me for the boards and will for sure do voodoo again also underrated.

Am going to Shakey Knees. Have my hotel room. Will be Aloft Downtown for 4 nights. Stoked about it, as I really enjoyed it in 16. Think your kids are very lucky!

Holy hell boys. My work xmas party in Chicago was last night and they booked Stevie wonder for a two hour set and then The Chainsmokers closed it out with a hour and half long set! Wow I’m fucking blown away. They even had drones that served donuts ! I love Chicago.
Edit: y’all are gunna love that headlining chainsmoker set.

Krisp, I do enjoy Chicago. Am going to do my best to hit Riotfest this year. Already have hotel room booked, just need that sweet sweet tic. All y'all Inforooers check out the lineup from this fest for last 3 years. Jeezus, what a fest! In Douglas Park. Have no idea what that's like. Can't be that bad. Just check out that lineup again...

I went to Riot Fest this year. It was fucking amazing. A bunch from Soopergroup go as well. There is a thread dedicated to Riot Fest somewhere on here.
Interested to see how that fest turns out. Won't happen for me this year but I'd love a reason to head down to a beach in the south for a weekend while the weather is still dogshit here in Chicago. A reason that doesn't include 3 dj's in the top 6 acts on the poster.
Biker weekend? Also it’s the first weekend of JF. I wonder if it will be a Creed/Altar Bridge/Limpy derp rock fest or if it will actually rock? 350k is one decent headliner.

Best hope is Def Leppard or Poison with some Clutch and Buckcherry in the undercard.

It's actually cheerleader weekend. Biker rally is the first week of May next year. Ex-FiL has a timeshare that weekend in PCB. Clutch is fine any day of the week. Suckcherry and Poison not so much.

I think they are just one sponsor. It says it is the same amount they gave the Pepsi Gulf Coast Jam which is a country fest and for country acts that lineup is pretty stacked. Luke Bryan makes more than 350k by waking up.

The few other articles I read on it was something like a Shaky Knees on the beach.

That would be cool. PCB is a hair < 5 hours from here, and I'd probably drive 5 hours for SK. But it's a fuck job being the same weekend as Jazz Fest 1. I could see driving down for one of the days and just cruising back that morning for whatever I'm gonna do that day. We will see I guess.
